If he is going to be silly then let him train but give him no game time, sad how our young lads are getting their head’s turned.

Welsh getting a new deal, Forrest suddenly getting minutes again and Vata getting booted. Been a lot of good things this summer but all of these feel like a step back from the strides the club made under Ange.

How's he being silly? Is it not signing a new contract or something else?

Ridiculous uefa make us have so many home grown players and allow a system where our best home grown players can be poached by teams from bigger leagues.
Another way uefa stack the deck and teams outside the top leagues.

It’s our own fault he’s not gonna be thrilled to play lowland league every week. Hampers development if any thing

strides made under Ange? He gave no game time to youth last season, even in dead rubber matches.

Agree with this, but I did admire in his initial spell that when he had to play youth, as there was no other option, he was nothing but positive about them and never held it up as an excuse.

Don't think Celtic will ever be a club like Ajax or Benfica that actually has a policy of developing youth into the first team. Although even those clubs are doing it less often.

If we lose Vata after losing doaks and others to Germany we might as well shut our academy as there’s not a clear and regular path from the academy to our first team, it’s a disgrace the amount of talent that is forced to leave us to achieve their footballing dream, it’s infuriating aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh

The writing has been on the wall for a while. He hasn't made the bench.

I'm fed up of losing players because they're not being given a chance or their head has been turned.

Our youth system is producing talents and we're not benefiting from it.

I'm not saying Vata was going to make it here, but we'll never know now.

Would Vata make it here in the first team? I doubt it tbh. Doak you could instantly see he was a fantastic young player but i dont feel that way about Vata so im not fussed. Would i rather keep him? Sure because you never know.

It’s difficult to integrate young players at a club like ours when the emphasis on winning trophies is so huge.

Even at Ajax and Benfica etc, they are hugely demanding environments but their fans can just about accept that they might not win the league every year.

We should definitely be giving youngsters a chance though when we’re a few goals up at home, especially now we’ve got five subs.

If he wants to move on then that is his prerogative but don’t let him put himself in the shop window to manage his next move considering Celtic have spent years developing the lad and he is too impatient to wait for his time to start for the first team, I do think some of the youngsters want their chance to shine too early.

The issue with that though is they miss out on B games after 5 appearances in the first team, bigger changes across scottish football is needed

He's 18 not 16 though and there is no clear path to the first team I can see for him in the next 2 years. Deilia was the last manager for me who would promote or develop a youth player.

Would love to see him stay but realistically the best we can offer is a good loan somewhere so think he's perfectly within his rights to look about.

Celtic bin scores of kids each year mercilessly, if they aren't offering a pathway the ones that do have talent and ambition they will go, and probably should.

There was chat of a new deal and a loan to Aberdeen though, if that had went through and he performed well up there, like Christie did, then there is zero reason he couldn't have been getting regular game time with us next season.

There would be space opening up considering it's unlikely Abada, Forrest, Mikey and Haksa will be here this time next year.

Managers that have got an eye on a move after a season or two aren't arsed to bring through youth. Just one of the many problems we have in that dept and we will continue to see this talent drain.
