Even his negative aspects bear this out. As you know, with Rodgers you get exceptional positive attributes; but that comes with a bit of bullshit (easily a price worth paying!). But while he's got right back on the bullshit horse in terms of his connection with Celtic, I haven't seen any of the egotistical stuff at all this time, at least not yet. So we're hearing how he must have watched almost every Celtic game since he left and how he couldn't understand why anyone would leave Celtic; but I haven't heard anything about him personally giving a meaning to people's lives or speaking 5 oriental languages (OK, I'm exaggerating slightly for effect, but you know what I mean) this time around.

I think he genuinely wants to repair his legacy here and I think he deserves the chance to do so and I think he has the coaching ability to do so. Everyone deserves a second chance and frankly we gain too.

Yep it would be the perfect time. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I’m wrong, but I just don’t see us breaking our record fee for a player in this window. My point was based around the £16m rumours we had for that winger earlier in the window. I’ve seen comments online suggesting we spend that amount on a couple of players to ‘take us to the next level’. I don’t think that’s likely.

Definitely wouldn’t be spending it on anyone, but if that level of player was available and willing to sign, I’d say get them in.

We cannot compete at the 10 million plus level due to wages. Players that can command that fee outwith the EPL in particular and any of the top 5 leagues will be in demand from those leagues and they'll offer 40+ grand a week for starters.

I'm starting to get * off now. Hatate moving as well as looks more and more likely and we'll have lost so much from last season. I was hoping we'd build on that team - not be scraping around with a couple of weeks left to break even.

We can though, 10 mil fee doesn't mean 50k salaries

Ajax's top paid is 66k a week (according to salary sport) aye that's well past our cap but their record fees 30 odd mil. Basset is supposedly on 30k a week and he was 20mil (ish)

Our top paid is around the 40k mark I think and is probably about right, not saying we go throwing about money for nothing but inflation happens in football too.

We still have key things to do to strengthen on last season and we don't want to lose anymore of the established team, I'll hang fire on * it until deadline day though

    AJ - CCV - Nawrocki/Gus - Merlin

    That’s a very decent back 4.

Can’t see us getting Dier but him sitting in front of that back 4 or slotting into a back 5 would make us a lot more solid in Europe.

Can see the negatives with Ryan Fraser but also can see some positives,

Rapid on the counter (helpful for Europe)
    Home grown
Versatile - can play both wings and as a wingback in a 5

Still another 3/4 to come in I reckon

I firmly believe (* knows where I’m getting the belief from) that BR would not have come back unless he was promised a sizeable transfer budget. However I am so underwhelmed by the state of our squad, so many injuries to key players and even without the injuries we are so much weaker than we were prior to the window opening. We could very easily be totally embarrassed in the CL if we don’t add a lot of quality, and very quickly, to that squad. Just raising my concerns and hopefully unfounded.

CCV, Hatate (if he stays) and Oh out of the game against the Huns it seems, if rumours are to be believed.

Definitely need to get another CM in and I'd like an Aaron mooy type striker signing. Someone early 30s who can offer something different.

Wednesday tomorrow. Need 2 in by the end of this week. Minimum.

With this current squad we are going to get ragdolled in the CL again, no ifs or buts, * ragdolled, that's without injuries or suspensions.

The fact Welsh and Forrest are still getting game time shows we have actually gone * backwards again.

Was full of optimistm when we got BR back but Celtic as usuall has completely drained that.

Not gonna go into what we need because it's * tedious at this stage, we all know.

Seems we are back to "happy to finish above the huns"

    Why can't we offer it?

Why is our wages ceiling still the same 30 grand we gave to Scott brown about 5 years ago?

Everyone, in every walk of life has had a wage rise die to cost of living/inflation.

Celtic seem to be the only organisation that havnt been effected by it

Inflation hasn't existed at CP since the early 00's.

Well except when it comes to charging fans.

2 in this week. I feel you will be disappointed come Sunday.

We cannot keep saying plenty time, or Rodgers wouldn't have come back if he wasn't promised x,y or z. We don't have the time now to be pondering or waiting for the market to move. We need to act now. Talk is cheap.

I'm still pretty confident that we will get the players in, but my * is definitely getting a bit squeaky, If this is the team we go into the season with (let alone if Hatate leaves), then Rodgers will have his work cut out to beat the Huns to the league, never mind talk of doing better in Europe.

If we don't get at least 3 or 4 quality additions, I'm going to seem like such a hypocrite, because no one on here will be angrier at the board than me.

If, as I suspect, a lot of this happens on deadline day, then it's going to be the nerviest deadline day for quite while!

    We paid £9m for edouard.

£7m for Jullien 4 year ago now. As has been said above that sort of fee doesn't always translate to massive wages.

Keito Nakamura who went to Reims I can guarantee he won't be on anything massive.

Anyone we get in now will have to hit the ground running, there's no beddin in time, which isn't ideal, although hoping it's quality and that side of things won't matter a great deal.

When you compare our squad to the Huns at the moment you wouldn't instantly know who the ones with £80m + more in the bank were.

In some positions aye but we really need 3 or 4 statement signings. Not marquee as that just screams Robbie Keane to me now.

    But celtic pls. Pls.

    Ryan Fraser isn't it.

People kept convincing themselves we would get signings in this week then it was the next week. Now we are midway through another week and the CB isn’t even confirmed yet.

We are going to struggle potentially in the league without quality additions because of injuries to key players already. The team people are fielding for the Killie game is bang average. No CCV, Johnston, Hatate.

The back line is average, midfield is very samey, our front line is still very good. But there are gaping holes in our team which need an injection of quality.
