We all know it wasn't the greatest performance but there was lots of good stuff today also. We'll get some new players in and Rodgers will get the team playing his way. Aberdeen for the 1st time in years look not too bad either so to not play well and score 3 goals in only our 2nd game I'm happy and pretty confident we'll lift our performance and speed of movement.

We had a fair few edgy games at pittodrie under Ange, not at our best by a long shot but a great win.

A lot of positives to take away from today, negativity breeds negativity, we've got a top manager, more players will be coming in, things are good for us, we should appreciate it.

Probably the best I've seen them against us for years..

Bit old school and direct but they've got 2 good strikers and just brought on another. A good blend in midfield..

If they go out and sign another 4 like Robson said, they're gonna bag third again and smash a few sides this season..

That Duk is a handful and the sub they brought on second half the commentator said scored 9 in the last 12 games last season? Fair play if you've got that sitting on the bench.

I thought they were decent today and caused us problems. Much like RC last week, not afraid to press us high and force mistakes.

If only all of Scottish football would be so bold maybe we wouldn't be a footballing backwater.

Would certainly help us in Europe if we were facing high energy high pressing teams every week.

It will take time to go from Angeball to what Rodgers wants..

Think the next signings will be what Rodgers wants and will help him put his stamp on the squad..

Duk's about as high end a club outwith us or them could have. Miovski works well up top with him..

Aye was prolific in Slovenia. Sounds a good one..

Yep. Pressed high. He admitted maybe bit too open at times but definitely rate sides that try and have a go..

I like to see a strong sheep side as they despise that mob and give it everything, whereas we usually bag the 3 points no matter what :BR1:

We also created far more chances today ,and good ones too than I've seen from us at pattodrie than we have previously for a long time...and against what would seem a far better Aberdeen side.

100%. I thought they might drop points to Killie for the first 70 minutes of that game and Killie looked horrible, fully convinced that Aberdeen side today would have beat them.

What do folk think is the Rodgers style he is looking to implement? Not having a go here at all just genuinely interested to know. I don't see a really clear identity yet - I'm sure that will come but as of yet it's not there in my opinion. Obviously there's the slower build up, the change in formation and involving Kyogo in the build up, but there doesn't seem to be a clear structure to our play just yet.

So what do people think that will be? Rodgers said himself the players that were in the building were suited to his football as he and Ange have a similar way of playing the game.

Think the full back situation is making it difficult to judge, once AJ is back and, hopefully, we bring in a left back it will maybe be a bit clearer.

Also just the players adapting to new ideas, it's a gradual thing. Don't think we'll be fully flying for another month or two yet. Which will make it fun in here :fear:

I don't think he has the players yet. He's still asking a lot of players so used to a different way of playing to play his his game.

Rodgers was always more slow build up lots of possession and not as many people ahead of the ball at any one time. More a structured move up the park rather than Ange's high octane in yer face "STOP * PASSING IT BACK" approach :giggle1:

Will take time for some players to adjust whereas others will love it.

Plus the emptier midfield with your fullbacks not tucking in anymore will take time to get used to.

I think once we get players back/in and are more settled that we'll see us playing our way out from the back more and through a press..

Right now it seems we're happy to launch it and don't overly trust doing it at the minute. Either orders to no put too much early pressure on the back line and clear their lines or the players are a bit spooked under a press early on just now. It's happened in small parts like the Forrest chance last week but we're still slightly unsure..

I think we'll be happy to mix it up and go direct at times but I don't think launching it aimlessly so often is what he's asking for..

It's gonna be majority possession based and attacking, maybe no as rapid as it has been the last couple of year but still dominant. We're no doing the inverted fullbacks, clearly..

We still don't have the players yet. As mentioned above the fullbacks right now are killing us in this system, and fullbacks are massive, particularly in the modern game now. So you have fullbacks struggling, a keeper who isn't comfortable playing out from the back. Haven't had a settled centre half pairing yet. Hatate being off it. A couple of 8's who are immobile as a pairing. Lost our best wide man and creative player and haven't replaced him..

When you take that all in to account then it's clear why we're nowhere near yet..

I've been a wee bit negative myself but when you list some of that off it actually makes me more confident moving forward that we're still doing enough under the circumstances.....and will massively improve soon..

Aye 3rd is 100% between them and St Mirren this season, Hibs and Hearts have Cavemen in charge.

St Mirren look good but don't think they'll have the depth to go that far..

Hibs have no chance, too inconsistent..

It'll be between the sheep and diets. I fancy the sheep. Only thing is European football might take it out of them but they're building a strong squad..

Scored 4 at home and 3 on the road at a difficult venue im happy enough with the way things are going once the window shuts and we play them at Ibrox we'll know alot more about styles etc. Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder but I do mind a few poor shows from Anges teams aswell it wasn't all free flowing stuff and games against the Huns I felt we never dominated under Ange apart from the obvious ones at Parkhead but away and at hampden I felt they were 50/50 I'm hoping Brendan is building a team to put the foot to there throats this season.

i think the absence of hatate was the reason we played so pish so far , even when he is put on hes not playing him where hatate has excelled for us.* knows why. with hatate in the side there is no reason for kyogo to be dropping as deep as he is i think last season proved we need kyogo in the box sticking them away rather than worrying about the build up

Actually feel sorry for brendan a bit, he is a excellent manager but as a few have said he isn't following ronny this time it's ange, who was all out attack constant whereas brendan is a controlled build up and methodical and slower approach. It will all click but 7 goal, 6 points and a * of an away game for the 2nd match of the season I will take that.

Have you watched Kyogo so far? He's been exceptional dropping deep linking the play and scoring goals.

    Best get used to it.
