Not sure what point you're trying to make here?

BRENTFORD are a good team and beat Arsenal and Man Utd in their two previous opening games the season. They would pump Aberdeen. Anyone who thinks different doesn't understand football.

Saw Leeds play Brentford last season. Football was awful, Brentford hardly attempted to attack a * Leeds team.

Not so sure there is such a big gap between Aberdeen and Brentford.

That is one and two years ago. What bearing does that have now?

Are you saying a Brentford to a Spurs are not like an Aberdeen to a Celtic?

Is it just you hate Scottish football that a 3-1 win is more deserving of your wrath than a 2-2 draw with Brentford.

    BRENTFORD.

Come on mate this is utterly delusional. Brentford finished 3 points behind Brighton last season who are a very good team in their own right.

Are we really suggesting that Aberdeen would be able to compete with top half EPL sides? Seriously?!

Spurs finished ONE POINT above Brentford in a league season that ended a few months ago. So yes, it's ridiculous to compare the gap between Celtic and Aberdeen to Spurs and Brentford.

    Come off it, ffs.

My point was more from what I've seen Brentford are nothing special. Given the money in the EPL the gap should be so much bigger.

Would they beat Aberdeen, probably, but if they were playing in the same league as Aberdeen, occasionally they'd drop points to them.

Certainly think Celtic would take care of Brentford type of clubs if we played them regularly.

Yeah but you clearly haven't seen enough of Brentford to determine how good or not they are. Like I said they finished 9th in a very competitive league only a few points behind Brighton who many see as a very good side.

I reckon we'd beat them but Aberdeen wouldn't lay a glove. That's the objective reality of our game compared to England.

I am going largely on one game, but honestly they were so far off being anything special. It was away from home for them too. So might be a different team at home.

So disappointed with EPL football every time I go to a match. Usually teams outside the top 6 right enough but still that shouldn't matter that much given the money in the league.

I take plenty of joy mate. But I'm not * clueless and don't wear green tinted specs every minute of every day.

You called me out because I said there has been a drop off from Ange's side to this current one - which no one should deny (SO FAR!)

But because I said Spurs played a good game vs Brentford today who are a very decent side I'm getting hounded.

It's very bizarre behaviour and screams inferiority complex just because I'm giving my opinion on two unrelated games in different leagues. :giggle1:

They drew 2-2 away from home to * BRENTFORD.

It wasn't man city mate. BRENTFORD and you are pishing your frillies and saying a few signings and they'll be fine.

Us though? Going nowhere directionless, rudderless, can't believe this they the next thing oh woe is us.

    * off

We should be horsing Aberdeen 8-0 because Scotland.

Brentford are amazing though so great draw for Spurs.

    Sad.

Not surprised by the result. Unlucky with the penalty and 2nd goal though.

He’s trying to implement his style, it’ll take time. Kulusevski looks ideal for that system, won the ball back a lot but he wasn’t great going forward. Swedish Maeda.

They need Bentancur back. Bissouma was really good. Think Son just misses his mate.

Sean you're just talking nonsense now, I never said any of that. :giggle1:

I said there's been a drop off between Ange's football and Brendan's football (so far), which isn't really debatable. But we're a couple players short of being a brilliant team (many would agree).

Then in this thread I replied to a guy who said it was a poor result for Spurs today, mentioning that Brentford are actually a good team (see league position last season) who have historically done well on match day 1 by beating Arsenal and Man Utd in recent years (another fact).

You've got your knickers in a twist for no reason.

I never said you did. I was loosely parroting the * you come away with.

Actually, directionless and rudderless might be too tame for the pish you come away with.

I never used to mind you pal but your hypocrisy in this thread is stark.

Kane leaving I imagine will help him in two ways it will buy him a little bit of time as their star man and captain left them a day before the season started and also I don't really think Kane is an Ange type of striker so I don't think he will see it as the end of the world he's gone as long as he can bring his own players in

Mate I'll make it simple for you and maybe then you'll see how silly you sound.

Has there been a drop off from our style of play this year compared to how we played under Ange? YES. Yous can bicker about how significant that drop off has been but there has undoubtedly been a difference (so far!!). Many on here would agree with that and have said so themselves.

How many points did Brentford finish behind Spurs last season? 1 point. This would suggest that they have recently been operating at similar levels. Therefore, a point away at Brentford is a decent result when you consider the relative strength of that Brentford team and the fact they've beaten better sides at home in recent years (Arsenal, Man Utd).

How many points did Aberdeen finish behind Celtic last season? 42 points. You're disingenuously trying to compare the gap between Brentford and Spurs to Aberdeen and Celtic, which is quite frankly farcical based on their aforementioned points tallies and league positions last season.

I never compared any of the teams above until you started crying about my posts in two unrelated threads. So what exactly are you up in arms about?

I’ve not been following it closely but I think he’ll do well if given time and backing. I’m not sure he’ll get the backing he needs.

I don’t think a 2-2 draw away to Brentford is a bad result.

It really is merciless down there though, and if the players decide they don’t like him I don’t think he’ll last long.

Brentford thats what I'm up in arms about.

    BRENTFORD.

The willingness to give Ange and Spurs time after a 2-2 draw but we are "* pish" after a 3-1 win.

Of course we look different. We have a new manager FFS. Trying to mould a team who were a mirror image of the previous manager, yet you just cut about here spreading doom about our future but hey Spurs will be fine because, reasons.

Again with the hyperbolic pish. I never said we were rubbish, only stated that there's been a drop off which there has been :giggle1:

By that same token though Spurs have a new manager and have just lost their best player. Brentford are closer to Spurs then Aberdeen are to us. 1 point compared to 42 makes that un-*-deniable.

    Stay contradicting yourself though!
