    It will.

It wasn't something we struggled with the first time around under Rodgers.

His style is naturally going to be a bit slower but we will still create and score plenty under him.

I think in Europe a less gung ho approach may help also.

The front press under Ange was a total myth.

It was Kyogo, Maeda and sometimes O’Riley sprinting full pelt at * with zero synchronisation and a huge gap behind them.

    * players would panic and often give it up, good players knocked it round them and had 40 yards of space to break in to.

There was no press. No triggers, no proper gaps between the players.

Absolutely mental to compare a fully developed "Ange-style" to Brendans when we're only at the 2nd game of the season.

He's right though, we were pish the last 2 seasons under Rodgers but luckily for him and us everybody else was more pish. I didn't want him back for that reason - nothing to do with him leaving mid-season. Maybe he's changed and has tweaked his tactics etc and will be better this time - time will tell. I hope so.

@Celtic_Daft1888 said it perfectly, during the second season we were below average up until the hearts game, which was the kick up the * we needed. From then on our football was excellent again, some of which included pumping the huns again.

When players have fully adjusted to the system, we'll start to see some really good football again.

More important for me is that we already have a number of up and coming coaches/managers in mind for 2 or 3 years down the line, keeping an eye on them for when the next cycle comes along.

I've every faith that we are doing this behind the scenes, with Mark Lawwell overseeing it all. Recruitment does not just mean players.

Brendan Rodgers has issued a Celtic transfers update - including insisting he's not concerned over the prospect of Ange Postecoglou raiding his side.

The Hoops saw off a spirited Aberdeen challenge today to win 3-1 after initially having their opener cancelled out to sit 1-1 until the half-hour mark. But despite two wins from two, the manager still wants reinforcements after adding five so far. With Carl Starfelt off to Celta Vigo, centre back is a priority and a deal for Gustaf Lagerbielke is close.

Hoops won't be stopping there with
Rodgers explaining that he wants a "few" more, without putting an exact number on it. The Northern Irishman is relaxed about the situation with over two weeks left in the window but he definitely wants to do business in that time.

Speaking post-match, he said: "We're looking to obviously reinforce with Carl going so hopefully we can do that in the coming days

We need a few more, that's for sure. I don't want to put a number on it really but we've got a bit of time to strengthen the squad and hopefully we will do that.”

Meanwhile, Harry Kane completed his move from Tottenham to Bayern Munich in recent days and there has been speculation that
Ange Postecoglou could return to nab Kyogo from his old side as a replacement.

But asked if that concerned him, Rodgers added: "No, not at all – but it's a good question though.

Alexandro Bernabei fell foul of the boss when he missed a team meeting recently and was subsequently left of the matchday squad which beat Ross County last weekend.

But he was back among the substitutes today and Rodgers was able to make light of the situation

His alarm is working now,” he smiled. “He has been brilliant in pre-season in terms of mentality and attitude and I felt for him.

The very morning of the first game of the season whatever happened the alarm did not go off. I don't have time to wait. If you start late in the game and you are not quite ready then the game could be dead.

It's gone. We draw a line under it. He's a good guy. His professionalism is fantastic and there is no worry. We all make mistakes but you learn from them and you'll be better for it.”

I honestly think it's very unfair to blame Rodgers for this and, frankly speaking, it wasn't that bad anyway in the second half that I saw. Certainly going forward we looked quite good. Dodgy as * defensively but against one of the better teams and look at the personnel he had to play!
Once we get in a replacement for Jota, a LB, a modern GK who is good at passing and possibly a CDM and then get CCV, Johnston and Hatate back, I think the only word to describe this team is exciting.

And tbh....I've said before I think rodgers has maybe taken some tips from JK about how we've played the last 2 seasons and looking to utilize both styles which would be full blown splooosh

I'll give it time but the drop off in performances from Ange to Rodgers has been very evident so far.

No AJ or Jota either. Which doesn't help.

True. That's why we need to get the finger out and sign some new players. If not he needs to be brave and start the likes of Yang and Holm, it's clear that his starting eleven today and last week isn't good enough.

I think Ralston is pretty poor but he wasn't that bad today.

All I can remember is that the football was boring and we were struggling to win games. I hardly had any enthusiasm for going to the games.
He got very lucky here as there was absolutely no competition. The huns were just promoted and were so bad they finished 3rd in Rodger's 2 full seasons yet despite that we only got 82 points in his second season. When we did play a decent team in Europe we were shown up as not being a good team.
I hope he is successful obviously but I'd rather we got somebody else.

    Has it though?

Ange had some turgid games in the second half of the season.

Honestly this guy is starting to take on mythical status among some of the support.

He's here, there's no point in dwelling on other managerial candidates, he's also the best one we could have got.

You mention Europe, Rodgers got us qualified into the group stages twice by navigating through very tricky opposition. We drew twice against Man City, beat Anderlecht away and also beat Zenit at home, where-as Ange was utterly abysmal in Europe.

    People have selective memories.

Not judging performances too harshly while Taylor and Ralston are our fullbacks. It's blindingly obvious that the inverted role really helped both but they're not cut out for the traditional role (especially Taylor). Maeda gets a lot of stick but at times he was doing the defending for two people down the left.

We’ve lost jota aswell bare in mind and rodgers only now kind of fully assessed the team.
