Were you not one of the ones that went mental at @G40B for suggesting that Taylor was repeatedly targeted during CL games? You're not wrong mind. Great in the inverted role but those days are behind us unfortunately.

 

I was, because G40B was clearly a hun and being disingenuous with his criticisms.

It's also worth mentioning that we had far, far worse performers than Taylor during said CL run, he wasn't the weak link.

No idea what point you're trying to prove tbh, Taylor not working under a new system doesn't suddenly mean I'm being Hypocritical.

 

That rocket got slated cos he refused to acknowledge when GT was absolutely flying, scoring assisting through balls right on the toe, MOTM performances...yet still gave no credit.

In short he's a fud, as is anyone who defends him.

 

I don't think he was a hun, I thought Taylor1 was the hun. He was literally like taking the * out of the hype over Taylor, couldn't have been more blatant.

My recollection was that you and a few others were going on like he was the next Tierney, saying he was captain material and all the rest. He was saying that Taylor was a limited player who was frequently exposed in the CL, which was 100% true. He was right at the end of the day, fud or not.

 

It's quite sad to see how far he's fallen in the eyes of many fans.

He had a terrific season and a half under Ange, arguebly the best performer last season but maybe all the stars aligned for him when Ange came in.

I think he'll do for the SPL, but any sort of European stage and he's out of his depth.

We started lifting trophies and that * G40B goes missing.

I was delighted to see Taylor do well and him to squirm trying to take a negative slant on it.

Surprised he hasn't resurfaced but then again his team took a battering from Killie so he's hardly in any place to dish anything out.

He'll do well in the spfl unless it's Aberdeen away*

 

He was absolutely woeful today and looked miles out his depth.

 

Terrific last season, won’t do this season in this system. That was a shocking display today. There was a moment first half he was favourite for it, ended up letting his man get between him and the ball, then got skinned and allowed the cross to come in. Bernabei is an awful defender, but at least he has qualities going the other way and has recover pace. Taylor in this system offers nada.

 

Mate, they happened.

And that's just October.

A good lesson in how people can get carried away with hype.

 

Wizard of Oz's comment was the most accurate imo.

 

I don't think he becomes a * player overnight. He's proven in big games to be reliable and consistent, look at the 2-2 game at Ibrokes, we fell apart when Taylor got injured, Juranovic came in and made an absolute * of it.

I was very much against us signing Taylor, especially after having to try and fill Tierney's shoes, but to have a solid 18 months to then become absolutely pish is madness.

I agree that we probably should upgrade, we also need a goalkeeping upgrade, probably another central midfield upgrade, and an upgrade on Maeda/Abada, as well as another striker who's better than Oh.

More chance of me playing up front against the huns in September than us doing all of that in the transfer window though.

I am surprised that we haven't done more in the window, considering we brought in a manager of Rodgers' calibre.

 

I’ve never bought into the Taylor hype.

I’ve always said I cannot understand for the life of me how a professional footballer can look so out of puff within 5-10 minutes of starting a game.

 

He's absolutely dug * as a traditional LB.

Please, please get a replacement in Celtic.

 

If you're being honest, you've got to admit last season he was excellent. First half of the season especially, it was one of the most drastic improvements in a Celtic player I can remember.

 

So poor today, just looks absolutely lost as soon as anyone with pace that can control a ball runs at him. Gets done inside all the time.

Even the part of his game that has been getting praise, his passing was woeful today. He gave the ball away countless times.

That left hand side needs a massive upgrade, Maeda was also so wasteful.

 

He’s slow, weak and small.






He’s simply not good enough to overcome these facts.

 

It took him quite a bit of time to adjust to Ange’s system. He was brilliant in that… but he looks totally lost at the moment.
