    Just can't get enough
Seeing how bad we were in defence yesterday, and he didn't even get on as a sub, there's really no future for him here, unless we try him as a defensive midfielder.

Have not heard anything but if he is going to have any shot at making it with us he surely needs to go on loan to another spfl team this season.

Yeah I think there’s actually a decent player there tbh just needs regular gametime in either spfl or league one

Celtic defender Bosun Lawal is set to sign a new deal at the club and then head out on loan to Fleetwood Town, sources have told Football Insider.

Lawal, 20, is highly-regarded at Celtic after joining the club from Watford in the summer of 2021 and they are set to reward with him a new deal before sending him out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.

A number of clubs in England have expressed an interest in Lawal, but Fleetwood have moved quickly for the defender with Scott Brown a fan of the player having worked with him during his time at Celtic.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international made one appearance for Celtic in the Scottish Cup last season with Lawal featuring predominantly for Celtic’s B team.

Lawal rose through the ranks of Watford’s academy between 2019 and 2021 but rejected a one-year contract with the Hornets in favour of moving to Scotland.

However, he has been unable to force his way into the first-team picture at Celtic Park and the coaching staff have opted to send him on loan to gather experience.

He played 1,800 minutes of youth football for Celtic’s B side last season, scoring six times and registering two assists despite spending the majority of his time in defence.

Lawal’s mostly been deployed at centre-back during his time at Celtic, but has also shown his versatility by playing further forward in a midfield role.

it's football insider so probably a load of bollocks. He shouldn't go to Fleetwood, stay in Scotland to make him HG.

Only seen the odd game of him and each time, must be my luck but he’s been terrible. Would you say he could be ready after this year to step in?

He was terrible before but I swear his best form and poty was as a box to box 8. Troy Deeny said he was like Doucoure..

He looks out his depth but maybe the manager might tweak where he fits in......

Doesn't look like a footballer, other than supposed hype about him I've seen nothing to suggest he is capable of making it as a pro anywhere let alone here

Wouldn't believe anything Football Insider says to be honest guys. Woeful outlet that just deliver total clickbait nonsense.

But there's no denying Lawal needs a loan move somewhere. Fleetwood would be a good level for him to see where his game is at. That Glasgow Cup final performance against the hun waens has seen the support for him turn sour.

Really hope he comes onto a game at first-team level elsewhere. But have real doubts about him.

Yeah Football Insider is pish. Brown has never worked with him at Celtic, Brown was off to the sheep and Lawal arrived under Ange.

Celtic defender Bosun Lawal is set to join Fleetwood Town later today after finalising a loan agreement, sources have told Football Insider.

The Glasgow club have been looking for a suitable club to take the highly-rated 20-year-old on loan for the 2023/24 campaign

Lawal has signed a new deal at Parkhead before heading to the League One side for the remainder of the season.

Football Insider revealed last week that Lawal was set to sign a new deal with Celtic before heading out on loan.

It is understood that the agreement is now completed and is set to be announced by both clubs at 5pm on Thursday (17 August).

Football Insider revealed in July that League One duo Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers registered their interest in signing the young defender on loan this summer.

However, Fleetwood have won the race for his signature and will have Lawal in their squad ahead of their Saturday league clash against Derby County

Lawal has only made one senior appearance for Celtic since joining the Glasgow outfit from Watford in the summer of 2021.

His sole first-team appearance came in the form of a three-minute cameo in the Scottish Cup last season.

However, despite his lack of game time in Scotland, Celtic’s coaching staff rate Lawal highly and are keen to keep hold of him as a long-term prospect.

He played over 1,800 minutes of youth football for Celtic’s B side in 2022/23, scoring six times and registering two assists despite spending the majority of his time in defence.

Lawal has mostly been deployed at centre-back during his time at Celtic but has also shown his versatility by playing further forward in a midfield role.
