I think this place will go a bit mental if we drop points in our next two games due to defensive errors. We have, on the whole, been quite reserved re not signing a new GK, LB and CM (even though we all know that we really need them) but I think this has a lot to do with the huns dropping points in Ayrshire and looking pish the other night. Yes, I know there's still a few weeks left in the transfer window however, these positions should have been addressed before the first game of the season.

 

Not that I’m panicking, but we’re going to get aggressively ploughed in the CL if we don’t sign 5 key players rapid style.

 

Apparently Stephen McGowan was on Graham Speirs podcast and said he expects us to sign a GK, LB and LW.

I know we've has one or two so called journalists come out and say we aren't interested in a GK, but I know who I'd believe.

 

I would accept that I guess..

 

I’m worrying a bit now folks just more so because even with lagerbielke it’s taken a week now since we’ve been apparently close to signing him and still not even official. Hoping if there are other players we are going for we can tie the deals up quicker rather than a week+ per signing since there’s only 3 weeks left. Lagerbielke to be completed then we still need a GK, LB, LW in my opinion to be stronger than end of last season. CDM would be great but I don’t see it until atleast January maybe next summer. But I’d be disappointed if we don’t get atleastb2 of the positions I said we need sorted

 

Surely a centre back as well, if we are rumoured to be close to Lagerbielke?

A replacement midfielder if Hatate goes too, even though I'd like one now and another to replace Hatate.

 

Probably considering that as a done deal already

This idea of doing all that in just 2 weeks assumes that we're starting now, though. Presumably, we've been working on this all summer and have multiple irons in the proverbial fire. The one that does worry me is Hatate if he goes. I doubt we were initially thinking in terms of him moving on so soon (I certainly wasn't), so we probably have only just started scouting a replacement this last couple of weeks and whether there's enough time left to do that as well as we would like to remains to be seen.

 

I hate to say it, mate; but even if this is our best window in years and everyone is buzzing the day after the window closes, I'd probably make sure I had plenty of vaseline on hand for the games against the Pot 1 and 2 sides. Whether we need another jar of the stuff for the Pot 3 side will depend on the draw.

I think Tilio, Kwon and Hacksabanovic all miss out this season. I've got what I think will be the squad. As it stands the 17th place is for Tilio but he's the first to make way I think.

Yeah it's what I'd do too but with teh current squad I think that's what's there, I suppose until the replacement CB signs it would be Hacksa but I'm sure he'll be announced on Monday.

 

There's little or evidence to suggest this.

Hence my own personal situation of me with my legs up in stirrups * kittens like my * is a * t-shirt cannon.

Usually when we enquire about a player it leaks from their side, no matter how quietly we go about our business. Ie. The Mbuyamba "approach", and basically EVERY player we've ever signed. Sometimes we hear weeks in advance, then wait for the deal to either disappear, or get over the line.

We're hearing * ALL. Nothing that suggests we're on top of our business.

Which suggests that we havent made any approaches or enquiries worth getting excited about, and best case scenario, still drawing up a list, or worst case, waiting to see what players we LOSE, before we allocate funds, which is highly more likely.

This window will most likely go down to wire, which is dangerous game to play given our financial limitations. 4/5/6m signings are a game of Russian roulette. We get get a Jota, or land a Barkas.
More frighteningly, we get loans in like Duffy and * Laxalt.

Ppl are gonna give me * but I've standing on the same hill since a full month in the window passed.
Meanwhile, the happer clapper camp keep listing a player wishlist, and providing an ever decreasing time frame as a reason not to flip out.

Same posters who were hollering about 6 weeks to go are now hollering 2 weeks to go... With the same "calm doon" *.
Same posters declaring week after week that Jota is being replaced "definitely this/ next week".

Like I said earlier in the thread, if someone told you at the end of the last season we will have lost Mooy, Starfelt, Jota and hadn't "replaced" them with similar or superior quality, despite our bank balance... Ppl would've lost their *.

It's now highly likely we'll lose Hatate too imo.

But hey, plenty of time left.

Your probably right. Just my frustrations leading the way. Think what bothers me the most, is that we're screaming out for 4 positions needing sorted, especially not wanting to get horsed in the CL, yet there's zero to say we're even looking at these positions. Probably took BR words too literally saying things would move on after the Ross County game as well.

Edit: Hatate going at this stage gives me major fear for our midfield. Lacks dynamism already. Would struggle to replace him regardless of how much time was left this window.

 

Most of our signings recently have been under wraps until broken by journos from that country, so there's nothing to say we're not on top of our business, there's simply zero evidence either way..

We all want business to move quicker and it has been frustrating, but we're arguably stronger at CB with the new Swede, really like the look of Holm too at CM.. Jota replacement will be signed don't think anyone gave a time frame, as long its done before end of the window.
