Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

We probably weren't targeting a GK at the start of the window which is what I'm thinking the local press are referring to, as I doubt we've briefed them since.

Even if Hart is regarded well with Rodgers, he basically said Siegrist was an unknown to him, we will bring a GK in 100%

 

I know there's still more than enough time but each passing day I do get increased levels of worry that we will not strengthen our weaknesses within the team. If 2 months ago BR said he wanted power. Where is it? He identified it immediately, we agree. Did he change his mind?

We are selling an established defender in Starfelt and quickly a link comes out for a replacement (who looks exciting I admit). Is it possible this is the only position we have made a enquiry for? Why is everything done last minute.

Think everyone feels a bit let down so far. It’s glaringly obvious where we need strengthened so that makes it more frustrating. The loss of Jota and maybe Hatate just piles on the anxiety. Think the good thing is no one is ITK so I’m hoping the lack of rumours is just that no one has a clue and we are maybe close to a few deals

 

100% spot on, we have replaced Starfelt with Rocki, good deal. But apart from a few squad fillers, nothing, the 2 standout "need to improve" positions-GK and LB-not been addressed.

 

Regarding Laidlaw playing well, when I was a keeper my best games were against teams who just attacked. As every save was made I got a rush, I was sooooo switched on but * teams who rarely attacked I struggled concentrating.

 

With Starfelt, Summers and Mcpherson all getting moves imminently, really hope then speed we're moving to get folk in steps up. Injuries only make these transfers done a necessity.

 

Come on Celtic, get a move on.

Dropped points on Sunday and it will be full meltdown about lack of activity. Even the folk who have been counting down the weeks saying “still 4 weeks…still 3 weeks”… like we are magically gonna just gonna go spend £20m in the last few days will be livid lol.

We will have targets. I’ll be just happy enough to get 2 chs, GK, LW, LB now. A bit of anti climax from the start of window when we were adding CL money to Jota money on top of our £30m budget but that was a bit of a fantasy, need to remember what league we are in. Can create a pretty strong team with a few more in. Some of the players look good already and guys like Kwon can’t be written off after 45mins.

I think the centre backs will be upgrades, Yang will take Abadas spot and Holm will be a cracking player. Just got to hope we can add a quality keeper and LW and we should be looking good.

 

Mate it already is lol. Could win 5-0 on Sunday and it will still be meltdown from some quarters. Even if we sign players for the position you mention....there will STILL be * moaning that they should have been in quicker.

 

Yep haha. I’m panicking a bit the now will be full panic mode though if we drop points and they will be to blame. We have lost a few regulars now and looked shaky on Saturday, it’s about time we got to work properly.

 

Final week of the window signings were still the norm under Ange, really not understanding why anyone thinks all our business should or was ever going to be completed by now, where has this expectation come from?

 

Hard to say mate, I think it's just habitual for a lot of folk. Maybe too much Football Manager? * knows.

 

It's also not like we've been completely still in the market. We've signed Nawrocki, Tilio, Yang, Kwon, Holm and are on the verge of signing another in Lagerbielke.

I think we'll sign at least three more players on top of that for around the Nawrocki fee or more. As you mentioned, we've been in this position in the past and many (arguably most) clubs still are.

We can criticise the Celtic board and leadership all we want, but they've shown a lot of competency in recent transfer windows. I'd be surprised if we end this window without spending another £12m~.
