Very few people sit in their proper seats at away games - more often than not they're actually low down and behind the goal which arguably isn't the "best seats"

Making up things that aren’t true


You said the GB think they are better than other fans Pinocchio.

 

None of this has been actually shown as far as I can see, but just to play devil's advocate here:

Suppose they really were making a statement. That would be quite petulant and rather childish.
Let's say they really do crave attention. That would be a bit sad and rather puerile (thanks, Google).
Let's imagine they really do think they're better than "ordinary" fans. That would be kind of funny.

So even if all that is true (which it might not be), I don't really get the level of anger. Something more is going on here.

 

I think in part it's because it's seen as disrespectful to one of our players, and in part it's cumulative. Like it's just one attention-seeking stunt too many. I don't think anyone's actually livid about it though. They've done things that I thought were dafter or more ill-judged than this.

 

A few seem to be quite livid about it on here!

Forrest has been a good player for us and deserves respect and I accept and even agree that that is a legitimate reason to criticise them (if it really was group decision to boycott the match, which hasn't been shown yet); but it's still not a legitimate reason for so much anger, unless the people getting angry were among the very few that (for example) got angry at the abuse someone like Sammy got at times.

TL;DR: I'm still waiting for someone to show that this is true; but even if it's all true, I still don't see any reason for anger or to turn against the group (although I will join in with the criticism of the decision if it turns out to be true).

Hearing a lot of jealousy of GB accused of various crap with no proof, most people in my section just don’t sing so thank * GB are there to help with our world class atmosphere and I also like their politics/tifos but the big drum * me off

 

U do know we had a world class atmosphere before 2007 aye?

 

Celtic position both them and Bhoys in those positions for away games, both groups have been at away games for years now in big numbers dating back to deila days when the away support started to dwindle and have built up large away records since then so get a large amount of tickets.

 

Our away support was no where near world class in the 2000s.

 

The same people probably have screenshots of their displays on their computers. Not had a season ticket for years due to finances, but been to their section when the stadium is empty ,and the murals there are outstanding

They are not perfect, like any group, but I suspect that some of the animosity towards them, is from fans who don't want politics at the games. Personally, I would prefer them to be there, to pay tribute to our longest serving players, but asking them to be banned for it is a bit extreme.

 

Couldn’t really care less if they were there as a group last night or not to be honest. I didn’t attend last night either, so having a pop at an individual or group for not going would be hypocritical. There probably was a few of them at the game. Their post when Rodgers took over was nothing short of embarrassing. Not attending last night though as a group? I don’t see the big deal.

 

Think we all need a group hug before Saturday. Clear the air and that.

I’ve missed all pre season games but it’s not a boycott despite the snakes taunt about short memories, I’m really not looking forward to seeing rodgers in our technical area but time to support our team despite who’s where in our management/directors it’s now all about the players on the park hearing our support and love of this club. GAUN US
