Agreed. We're sorted at centre half for now, we can revisit it in January if need be.

GK, LB, LW and CM still required this window, let's see how many of those we're able to fill.

Me neither mate. I think we'll get a LW (based now on what The Republican said) and a GK. I think we might then see Tierney come late in the window, but if it's not him I don't think we'll sign another LB.

If we brought in, say, Ferreira, the Czech GK and Tierney, you'd have to say it was an excellent window.

 

Yeah think we will see at least three more signings before the window closes and we have enough to beat county on Saturday but would like to see something happen after the weekend.

 

Will be disappointed if we don't get all 4.

 

Better with a bottom 6 side - he'll get more practice defending.

 

There is something to the point that potential signings are weighing their options. Patience, I suppose...

 

GK, LB and LW are absolutely crucial. Think a CM is also needed but slightly less of a priority.

McGregor, Hatate and O’Riley is very strong in the league. Obviously Europe is another matter but I’m hoping with a double pivot we might be more secure in midfield.

He was pish last night but I actually think Kwon will be a cracking CDM.

Rodgers apparently said fringe players will be given a chance to show what they can do as their future is not set in stone. This explains why we haven't had more incoming players. Rodgers doesn't yet know who's leaving among the substitutes and rotation players.

 

Paraphrasing, but we're after a right-footed left winger. Had one lined up but has apparently reached a "stumbling block". We're assessing our options.

 

that doesnt explain it ,its making excuses for not having new signings .if rodgers watched us as often as he claimed ( and this would be as good a time as any to mention rodgers talks *) then he'd know the state of the squad.

If he watched us loads, all he'd know is who Ange used, in Ange's structures/formation, playing Ange's way... He's literally his own person, with his own ways and needs to assess what he has and wants relative to such...

However, he's definitely been here long enough now to know where he needs changes and strengthening... So if he's keeping quiet it should be because there's irons in the fire or we don't actually need anything. Neither of those things appear to be true at this point in time

 

Ideally Siegrist but I expect to replace both within 12 months.

But if Brendan was to speak with Harte and say we will be signing a first choice keeper, and Harte thinks he would rather move now to play somewhere else due to his age, I think he's earned that choice.

 

Need to be patient until end of window I feel. Maybe get 1 in before middle month then anyone else probably last day of window which doesn't give them any time to bed in to play vs them but does give them chance to be here during international break (if not a international) also allows us time to clear the decks a bit as squad is very bloated still.

Sorry mate but I dont quite agree with that. We should have been looking to add quality to this side going into the CL group stages. The need for this was only compounded by the loss of Jota.

Pre season games and training provide a chance for these players to impress, yes, but it doesnt excuse not adding quality to the side. We already know what a lot of of these fringe players are bringing to the table.

For me, we needed a signing akin to a Sinclair or Jota (even at the level of player he was when he arrived). We havnt got that and for me we are a weaker side than last season.

There is still time in the window but I feel that our strategy this window hasnt been as on point as we have seen the last couple of windows.
