    * me, spicy in here .

Until the GB announce that their supposed "absence" was a protest of some form, Ill reserve judgement.

I prefer to base opinions based on facts, not conjecture from the Scottish Sun newspaper.

The point i turned against them was the 10 in a row season. Chasing our own team bus leaving the stadium was despicable, we were all fuming and all going through a horrible time at that point, folk losing jobs, loved ones etc, they made things 10x worse regarding what was best for the club.

Moving on to feb last season when they went wanting to have a go with the Union bears, when the gb outnumbered them massively and got chased about, totally riddy for the whole support never mind the gb. Wouldn’t bother me one but if they stopped going to games the morra, they take the whole left wing * to another level as well and contradict themselves half the time with their different ideologies.

My old seat before i had to give up my season ticket wasn’t far from 111 before it became the standing section, you used to see young boys maybe 15/16 around the section flying different liberation movement flags from Spain not having a clue what they meant whatsoever.

Same goes for a lot of the folk that now are in the standing section now, a lot of it’s daft kids wanting to be a part of something like Antifaschistiche aktion who know * all about the cause apart from maybe 10 people in the section who actively participate in Antifa and know what it’s about.

Been losing a bit of respect for them myself over the last wee while, but last night was not a boycott. It's either ignorance or just disingenuous so say it was as it has been explained already that they never do friendlies as a group.

For what it's worth, I think Jamesy deserved the respect of having the group show their appreciation, but still it was not a boycott.

Seems a lot of people think it's compulsory to attend friendlies. I chose not to go to the Wolves game in Dublin because I thought it was over priced.

Will I have to find another team to support now?

Whilst everyone's free to do and go to whatever game they want.

It does seem strange they didn't go last night (as a group). And the posts by some of their members seems to be a bit confusing.

It seems that season ticket holders would be buying their normal seat. If not taken, I'd pressure it would be open to general sales?

It seems odd that the whole support didn't buy a ticket for the game at all. Almost as if they collectively decided not to.

I get that they don't/can't/won't attend every single game, specially during pre season. But one against a club such as Bilbao, for a testimonial for one of our most decorated players, seems very strange that some of them wouldn't want to go at all, as a group or not.

Just seems mad that there wasn't some folk in that section at all.

Surely none turning up would suggest it was organised, which is much the same as a boycott.

Seems a bit overblown, they obviously didn’t organise as group to go so maybe a lot of them went with friends or family they don’t normally go to games with.

Would of been nice for them to be there of course for Jamesy but people reading too far into this.

But aren't there special rules for the standing section? I'm sure I remember reading that there were more hoops to jump through to buy tickets there. I still haven't seen Daizen's point addressed that the majority of the section aren't GB and I still haven't seen any specific evidence that this was a deliberate boycott.

Loads of other ST holders never went last night yet it seems the GB are singled out in this respect. Obviously a group decision unless some went with friends and family and sat somewhere else for a change.

I did find it slightly odd they weren't there and after the rumours floating around that they might boycott due to Rodgers being back (don't think that came from the group themselves though) that was my initial concern, however it's now been established they never do friendlies/testimonials then that's fair enough.

Hopefully there at the weekend and a nice tribute to James would be nice.

I think most young guys like to think they're hard. I'm sure I probably did (and the idea of me as a hardman ought to make anyone * themselves laughing). I take your point that they were acting like hardmen when they weren't and got leathered for it/ ended up running away/both. So what? I just find that a bit embarrassing rather than a complete disgrace and part of the learning process of growing up. TBH, better that than them actually being hard and beating up strangers who are just having a quiet drink. That would be even more embarrassing IMHO and genuinely would be a disgrace.

Also, some of the best posters on here (in terms of what they have to say) don't have the greatest spelling or punctuation. You wouldn't criticise them for that, because you're not a *, so why are the GB fair game?

Because what Div from Pollok posts on TalkCeltic is not being broadcast to the worldwide media as a representation of Celtic supporters.

    Surely you see the distinction.

I can see that and it did occur to me. It's a fair point to an extent; but what we were saying also applies to people outside the club. Just as you judge Dave from Pollock on the quality of his posts rather than his spelling, so anyone who sees that display and looks down on them for writing "bloostained" probably isn't worth caring about. With one exception (see below), I don't think most of us usually judge other clubs by daft things like that.

If I can voice a suspicion (I'm sorry if I'm wrong), the one area where I've seen people on here say, "Ha ha look at the state of the spelling/grammar/punctuation on that!" or drawing conclusions like: "They thought they were hard and got leathered therefore their entire club is an embarrassment." is when talking about the Huns. So what I sometimes suspect is that what people are really angry at when banners are misspelled or members act wide and then run away scared is that the Huns will be laughing at us.

I was surprised not to see them there but wouldn't read too much into it. Be good if they have something planned for Jamesy on Saturday though.

My ST is in the standing section and I wasn’t there last night. Hope that’s ok and nobody starts clutching their pearls.

Some season ticket holders didn't go to the game... an obvious agenda.
