Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

Honestly don't remember that mate. We all on here were well impressed how quickly we were getting deals done under Ange.

 

Not in the very first window whilst Mckay was still here mate, it was round about the time when Midgetland beat us

 

From today’s friendly the two areas that stand out as subpar are Keeper and LB. Desperately need both.

 

Aye not 100% sure Taylor will work under Rodgers system, he's looked vastly out of sorts so far.

It is pre-season of course, so in no way am I saying we should outright replace him, but he needs far better competition than Bernabei.

 

In terms of starters definitely, I also think we need some competition in attacking/ box to box centre midfield and left wing.

Abada, Maeda and Kyogo were very lively but it was mostly movement and in behind, very handy for the CL but domestically we need some one good on the ball.

Overall there was a good aggression about the team today and a real willingness to work hard and back each other up. It was a friendly but we were cheated out of a win. We also coped pretty well with a big physical side.

 

The fact Bernabei didn’t even get on says it all.

 

Wouldn't have said this weeks ago, but I honestly think GK and LB are far bigger priorities than LW, despite losing Jota.

Not saying I'd be happy if we didn't bring another LW in, but we look very, very good up top currently, where-as almost all our problems in pre-season have came down to Taylor and Hart.

Not saying we should get rid of either, and Taylor will deservedly be first choice LB for a foreseeable, but we really, really need some proper competition in there.

 

lb has been a priority as you can't have just 1. I don't understand why Bernabei was signed tbh. if he's cost 2m I could understand but for 3.5m we needed someone straight into the side or at least pushing Taylor.
I'm going to be annoyed if a new keeper doesn't come in. Hart is very slow these days. I feel like because of Gordon, Bain and Barkas fans accept a keeper being passable

 

I'd be very shocked if a GK doesn't come in. Hart's looking passed it and will likely leave at the end of the year, and Siegrist was AWOL for the majority of last season. We might not have put a bid in, but if Stephen McGowan says we were interested in LIvakovic, we're clearly getting a keeper in, we might not have any links to others as Livakovic is technically still available.

For LB, I suspect we'll need to move Bernabei on first, and it might be a signing that's later on in the window. Hopefully we start seeing some solid links tomorrow onwards.

 

Yeah we still have a variety of attacking options, so although it's always * to lose a player of Jota's quality I'd say a direct replacement for LW is a bit less of a priority than improving GK and LB. Think we'll still be trying to fill all three though.

 

Gk and lb for me are our most needed areas of improvement just now.

 

Yep after looking at todays game it's very obvious we need a left back and GK. I like Taylor but Bernabei needs shifted. Love big Joe but needs replaced.

Could do with another striker and obviously a left winger.

 

They two positions are definitely more important than left wing in my opinion. Abada looks like he will be a starter under Rodgers, and in all honesty, I think has earned the right to have that weight on his shoulders. Maeda has looked sharp so far also. We need boys like Yang and Tilio to be able to do what Abada has done the last few years. Forrest may still offer something as well. Haksabanovic who I like, I’m just not sure he is a winger though. Left back and goalkeeper are out two weakest positions now though, no question about. We need these two positions filled with quality. If we can get another winger of quality, then all the better.

 

And if the Starfelt rumours are true we will obviously need a another center half..

 

Was hoping to get one more in before then, but hopefully we get one or two before the Aberdeen game.

At the very least, I hope we see some rumours over the next week.

Hopefully Rocki and Kwon are the answer to the last 2 but others badly need addressed. Today only highlighted it.

Taylor far too slow and if it wasn't a friendly would probably have been sent off. Couldn't cope with their wingers pace at all.

Twice Hart failed to play a simple pass out and gave it to an attacker.

Both have done well over last couple of years and altho it's only preseason and early days but both are already showing they don't look capable of playing Rodgers style.

I'm not as fussed about a winger as most people altho if we could upgrade Haksabanovic id be happy.

Also thought Oriley again looked really slow/unathletic/stiff call it whatever but I'd prefer a much more mobile/athletic option

 

Mate the last thing we need is rumours.

If we've learned anything last few years is nothing comes out of Celtic park until the deal is pretty much done.

 

Like others have said we need to look at the Keeper and Left back positions.

Also someone who is going to replace Jota’s goals, assists and turning up for big games is a must.

Three players needed for me who can walk right into the first team.
