Image is just to show the squad depth and rough positions on each player.

I think we'd be very lucky to see 8-10 departures, I'd be delighted with 4-5 if I'm being realistic. Can't see us shifting Ajeti this window -- he's more than happy to sit out a year on a decent wage.

Not signing a new keeper would be a huge mistake. It should be our biggest priority.

If we did do that and what you suggested, it’d be a very good window.

Aye, revised my "big" signing list from GK, LB, CM, LW to just 2 of them. Can't see us getting 4 big signings in and shedding the * from the squad we need to.

Aye. I can see Rodgers turning some of the * into good players, so I'm not discounting them, so that's why I went with 2 more players aswel.

Even him saying that, and Maeda showing up well in pre-season with Kyogo being a bit behind in fitness, I'd be surprised if he played in the middle a lot domestically, he's great with space to run into but not sure his game is as suited against teams that park the bus, Kyogo's more intelligent movement and Oh's strength makes me think right now he's still going to be 3rd choice striker and play more games wide.

Unless Rodgers decides to tweak things for 2 up top sometimes, or with Kyogo having a lot of experience wide left before he came here playing a tighter front 3 and the two rotating during games.

Settling for 1 or 2 high calibre signings when we need 4 to improve the squad would make for a disappointing window and not what we were expecting with Rodgers return..

Not in August yet, so there's still time..

Think it’s just we’ve been bitten so many times before even going back to wee Strachan’s time. Qualify for CL expect some major signings and get Willo Flood :54:

My faith is still Rodgers wouldn’t have taken the job if he wasn’t getting backed heavily

It would be appalling, let's not beat around the bush.

If we can't bring in high quality players from this position of strength -- automatic CL entry two years running, no qualifiers, cash rich, massive player sale in Jota -- then we never will. We're resiging ourselves to a European minnow.

Agree, we really need a GK, it's so important to the team.

Bain should never have been given a new contract, it's money down the drain and makes zero sense, he's not good enough even as back-up.

    Tierney is absolute pipe dream.

Even more so given Fabrizio Romanos update yesterday that Arsenal arnt actively looking to sell him and will only do so if a SIGNIFICANT bid is placed.

Somehow I doubt a 1 year long and paying at best 30% of his wages will qualify as significant.

Hopefully club don't share this same pipe dream and are gonna hold out til end of the window in hope of getting him bcoz we desperately need a left back and don't want us scrambling about on last day of the window for 1

I agree Bain is dreadful but he is pretty much our Carson, or Butland was at Man U or Richard Wright did it and Green at Chelsea etc.

He isn’t expected to play, he picks up a small wage by comparison to our squad, is there in case of absolute crisis and fills a home grown slot in our Euro squads. We could have brought David Marshall back to do the same job and he would count as club trained.

The problem for me is we signed Siegrist on a long term deal and he isn’t good enough or reliable fitness wise enough to be our no.2 or challenge Hart for No.1. For me he needs punted and a number 1 brought in with Hart being there as a safety option at no.2 for a season.

This has always been my thinking, couldn't understand the logic of him returning to the job and not getting the tools to do the job, must admit though things have been a lot slower than i thought tbh.

All this talk of strengthening from a position of strength, i think we really need to start showing our intent and get some quality players in the door.

As mentioned there is still time, but with each passing week we get closer to the start of the season, need tae get the finger oot !

So one of him or Kyogo are gonna be on the bench every week?

Don't see it. 1 of them will 100% be playing on the left

Thing is mate i think Hart will cost us big time, we badly need a new GK, stability in defence is key, at present i don't think we have that.

100% agree, I just posted a list of guys who we could feasibly go for that would be good buys for under £5m in player suggestions.

I would be happy to keep Joe around as no.2 for the season, a good experienced head and character but bring in a new number 1 capable of the big saves that could help us pick up points in CL.

If it goes to the end of this week without a firm link to a quality player in one of the positions required, I'll start to get worried.

Very unlikely we will sign 4 quality players in August alone if not a sniff about any of them has come out, and that's what we need.

I think we have to forget about the start of the season. This might well be who we have available for the kick off. It's not ideal but it's the way it is. We'll deal with it.

I think making sure we have the right people in at the right price is more important in the long term and I still have total confidence that this will be looking a lot lot better when the window closes.

Yeah i think we'll get there eventually lol, can understand the unease atm, i still have trust that the recruitmant team will deliver.

It's important though that off the back of a treble we don't take our foot off the gas as we have done in the past.
