It's totally legal. Every player gets sign on bonuses. It's just at an increased level for a higher calibre player. I still remember Tierney bought his mums house with his first sign on bonus so she was mortgage free. Good lad.

I'm not saying it couldn't cause problems come other players renewing contracts in the future all wanting that amount.

I loved him when he was here, but he will most likely spend more time out injured so i would not splash so much money / wages on him in all honesty.

Our window so far have been extremely underwhelming, so hope we get some big signings goings soon.

Is he injured that much anymore? Seems to start every game for Scotland.

I think he'd an operation last year and has been relatively injury free last season, just couldn't get a start for Arsenal

It'd be massive to get him back even for a year, can't believe people are poohpoohing the idea. It would be nothing other than a significant step up in that position, there's few signings more ideal.

Played really well although in the end, he kinda gave the ball away numerous times in good positions and couple of stupid fouls when in dangerous attacking positions.

Not sure how that Japanese (I think) is even ahead of him, never mind Zinchenko.

To me the fact Arteta started a right back ahead of him tells all.

Newcastle need to watch with regards FFP and Villa who were another team interested have signed someone else.

I think it could happen. Well, I get more confident each week that passes anyway.

If it comes to the last week or two of the window and he's still there i really do think it'll happen.

Usually fit for Scotland because he doesn't start many games for Arsenal..

He'd be a risky signing. Great player but we'd have to manage him big time..

No sure how I feel about it. Think I'd rather we went elsewhere..

I’d love him back. But problem is it would only be a short term fix for now. He’ll be back later on there’s no doubt but he’d only be here for one season if he signs on loan this year.

Defo need a LB. Taylor is decent but we can do better and if he’s injured we’re *.

I don't see what Arsenal would gain from this therefore can't see it happening. We won't be able to buy him at the end of the loan and our wage contribution wouldn't cover a third. He's been a first team regular then a frequently used squad player so there's no development benefit there for them either.

As for us we would be paying our top wage and prob at least a couple of million in loan fees. So close to £4/5 million for a player we are never going to be able to sign for just one season. I don't think so.

    I'm no sure..

He's probably gonna be one of those players who retire by about 30..

We'll 100% sign a left back this window. The manager almost taking the * yesterday about Bernabei said it all..

Was talkin to someone earlier today about this, if you look at it in the cold light of day, take the romance out of it, i doubt his body could withstand the rigours of Scottish fitbaw over the course of a season.

He'd have to be rotated with Taylor. And that is reasonable.

For the money he would cost you would want him to start every game he is available for there would be no point in paying mega money for a rotation player

This is my worry but he has said himself he was fit most or last season. Just not picked.

I think we handled him terribly last time and have pretty much caused these issues with his body IMO.

But we would handle it better this time around you'd imagine with Taylor around too.

This is the only way we get an upgrade on Taylor. Ideally, Kieran plays some 30 games per season.
