When will this nightmare end?

 

Think of Bitton but shouts at everyone a lot more and can zip a decent long ball.

 

We're like the UN now. Get a North Korean, couple of Chinese and at least one Ukrainian and Russian player and we might actually achieve world peace.

 

The videos make it look like he goes to ground more than Bitton. That accurate?

 

Very grim signing if he's the only defensive midfielder we bring in.

Watched a few of his videos and I can't say he excites me. Iwata's clips were actually more impressive and he's struggled after arriving fresh off being the J League player of the year.

Hope he proves me wrong but I can't help but feel underwhelmed by this.

 

How often have you watched him play 90 minutes?

 

I've been watching the lad for 5 years and... Ach ye know the rest.

 

It's a bit disingenuous to say Iwata's struggled since he joined.

His worst games came at CB, where he most likely won't play this year. Whenever he played in midfield he looked fine, a bit overhyped originally, but fine.

 

I’m happy with the signings, but how much say has Brendan had on all 4 of them?

Can only wee him bringing in 2 or 3 marquee signings, because we are gonna have a massive squad.

 

I feel like all 4 were scouted long before Brendan was even considered tbh. We had links to Holm and Jun before Ange had left and Hyeok was linked in January.

I'd suspect this is the last project signing, and we'll start to see some additional movement over the next 2 weeks.

 

Just my opinion but I think Brendan is quite happy with the scouting system we have in place.

I think people waiting on marquee signings might need to tie their legs together. The players we might be targeting will look to hold off for better leagues.

We needed big signings even before he left. I hope we see movement soon. I won’t lie, if two weeks go by without anything I’ll be panicking.

 

I'd say yeah sadly. There's been fairly soft challenges on him I thought he should be standing up to. He can dish it back tbf.

He's an intelligent player though, very good at controlling play. I will give him that.

Never, but his profile and YouTube clips are underwhelming. We chased Souza last year who looked class, this season there's been rumours of Rieder, Jashari, and Vera. Those are the sort of players I feel we needed to kick on. Of course none guarantee success but Kwong is just another cheap punt from Asia, the polar opposite of the types of players we've had apparent interest in.

I don't mind K League/J League signings, but I have reservations about constantly dipping into that market if our aim is European progress. Look at how many midfielders are currently at the club - McGregor, MOR, Hatate, O'Riley, Iwata, Turnbull, Holm and now Kwon. 8 midfielders for 2 positions (McGregor will always play).

So are we really pinning our hopes on either Iwata or Kwon to take us up a level in Europe and bring the defensive stability to a midfield that hasn't had it for 11 years? It's a big risk in my eyes. We've not had a competent DM since Wanyama, for over a decade it's consistently been the weakest area of the team. Then when you look at our * poor record in Europe since, it isn't hard to see why.

Financially we're in one of the healthiest positions I've ever seen us in. We've a happy and harmonious successful squad, a manager who most deem as top class, another year of automatic CL football. I think we should be demanding more as fans and try and bring in players who will immediately improve the first eleven, especially for a position so pivotal for Europe.

Yeh definitely, they are Ange signings all over. I’m sure he’s happy enough but bringing in 4 is a lot and hopefully that’s it.
