Mate it's not doom and gloom it's just wanting the club to improve.

If these were the only guys we signed and we get humped again in Europe etc then you'll have the same scenario of * moaning cos we didn't sign anyone proven.

We need at least 3 or 4 players with a good level of experience in a European/good level league this window. If we get that along with these guys then ill be * delighted.

There's zero excuse with the money we have. I get you'll have people saying "well we paid 5m for barkas there's nae guarantees HH" but if we want to keep that attitude we'd be as well giving uo.

If we really want to make a step up in Europe now then we need to push our fees up and take that risk, as well as picking up these hidden projects signings.

We all know that and so does Rodgers I think so let's hope for the best.

The big area for me is midfield. We really need a proper signing in there with a bit of pedigree. If we go into it with the same midfield this year I'll be worried.

Despite us having numerous options there.

I'm still expecting a big player to go before the league starts either hatate or Abada .

Nearly 50 pages into @Mr Shelby 's thread... Aptly titled "crucial summer".

Let me repeat that. Crucial Summer.

I know alot of you don't wanna face up to the obvious reality that our business in this window has been "slow", and even fewer want to acknowledge that there doesn't seem to be an actual plan in place.

BR's recent comments gave me more concern than solace. How long does it take to assess a squad you claim you've been watching since you back doored it ?

I actually don't think we're "down the line" with * all.

I think we're actually at square one transfer wise, and these signings of ambition are a long way down the line.

Many of us (not myself) imagined BR would waltz in, sign some world beaters, and it would all be gravy.
My absolute fears about BR appointment seem to be coming true.

    But let me guess?

It's understandable? We're taking our time to "get it right"?
Assess the squad first, then get the new signings in?
Perhaps "we don't know what's happening, the club are playing a blinder" ?

    Face facts.

We've allowed Sevco to steal a march on us preparation wise.

Wait... I'm a "panty wetter", " better players always win titles" , "they've signed *, nothing to worry about".

    Not buying it.

We needed movement, a MONTH ago.

I have no problem signing guys like Tilio and Holm and I've never ever asked the club to throw money around recklessly or sink every penny into the transfer market(it's actually more satisfying to see a player we've bought for relatively little be sold for big money). I just worry that the areas of the squad that need most attention haven't been touched yet whilst we bring in another few more wingers to join the 6 or so we already have. Doesn't mean they won't do well for us or that we won't get those problem areas sorted but it does seem as if our priorities are wrong. We saw at the end of last season how overrated our squad strength is, deep in numbers yes but not deep in quality in certain crucial positions. Of course, when the transfer window closes we may have rectified these issues, but at this moment in time we haven't and until we do that will remain the reality.

Holm, Tillio, Jun and Kyo all players we followed for the last 2 years. Young with plenty potential and that’s where we’ll make our money with signings. Happy to get in more prospects to back the squad up.

Now hopefully we’ll be looking for the experienced quality to take us up a level now for Europe.

After the sale of Jota, for me we’ve got four players capable of competing at Champions League level.

Carter-Vickers and Johnston who are both injured, Kyogo and McGregor.

We need serious upgrades in every other area if we are to even compete in Europe.

Our options on the wing in particular give me the absolute fear.

I seem to remember that before Ange left, it was suggested that we had 4 players lined up to come in early.

Tilio, Yang, Kyo and Holm.. there's your 4.

Hoping that's gonna be the case.

Tete to perhaps be the first...

Rodgers came back here to (hopefully)rebuild his reputation after getting Leicester relegated. If he repeats the success that he had 1st time around he will be off back to England as soon as he gets an offer he deems worthy of himself. All this talk of 5 year plans to make a mark in Europe is utter fantasy. BR won't be here 5 years from now, he'll either do well then bolt back down south as I said or he won't do well and will 'mutually agree' to step down.

I think it's blatantly clear that the current signings were all Ange projects, most likely players we were already far down the line with that Rodgers gave the go ahead to sign. We signed Tilio and Holm relatively quickly, and we'd have signed Jun and Hyeok around the same time if the Korean clubs were easier to deal with.

I'm not 100% sure if we'll get another midfielder with Hyeok coming in, as even if we punt Turnbull, Soro and Shaw we're still a big crowded in there, but outside of that I fully expect us to spend a fair whack on the remaining positions. Think we'll finally start to see some different rumours within the next week or two.

I'm in the same boat as others now, being a bit annoyed that the only real rumour is an unrealistic Tierney and Tete, at a push, but I'm still not at the panicking stage, and anybody who is just needs to find a hobby tbh.

we have to ditch this notion that rodgers coming back = hes been promised top players .think all he said that had changed from his last stint was there is more clarity on whats happening probably spend half of the money we got from player sales like we always do. i could be wrong but ill be surprised if we spend more than half of the jota money ,12.5 with the two signed and two korean guys that will leave us £5~6 m still to spend . think its more realistic than this chat of £30m to spend

I’d include Hatate in that as well. We need a proper ball winner to play beside McGregor and Hatate though.
