Possibly no recognised RB for start of season then.

Why was he allowed to play in those international games is the question. Fs.

Said it at the time shouldn't have played after coming off injured against the hun.

Hard to complain about Canada doing what we already did.

    They never would.

But in terms of journalistic accuracy and actually doing their jobs the article likely scores much higher than most.

Not liking what it says is the bigger issue here for most.

I feel the same, the club can't moan. Ralston was good enough for Caley Thistle or even Hatate at RB.

Well we’re * then if we think all the players given extra time off are injured :56:

He’ll be fine and will join the rest of the squad for Japan.

Alistair Johnston is set to miss the start of the season after undergoing ankle surgery.

The defender picked up an injury while on international duty with Canada and has been unable to train with Brendan Rodgers' men.

The 24-year old went under the knife over the summer with his manager saying the recovery time should be around six to eight weeks.

However, Rodgers is hoping he may have Johnston back sooner than that.

The Hoops boss said: "He had an issue when he came back from international duty.

"A slight problem with his ankle.

"He has had that operation on his ankle - a couple of little bits removed from there.

"It was successful and he is out here with us.

"It is probably a six to eight week injury but hopefully it will be a bit sooner than that.

"He will progress really well and it is better to have it done at this stage of the season than sometime in the season."

Our back line for starting the season is starting to look rather worrying.

    Ralston (Yuki/Welsh/Iwata) Starfelt Taylor

That’s average for the SPL for Celtic standards and would get murdered at European level. Can only hope CCV and Johnstone are back sharpish.

Has good news gone out of fashion? Ange gone. Jota gone. AJ out injured. All we need now is Kyogo to do his ACL and CCV head back to England and we can throw in the towel and save ourselves the effort.

Of those players only Taylor and Starfelt are even approaching the standard we require for a first 11 regular and even then Starfelt needs CCV next to him to keep him right. Our regular back 4 of AJ, CCV, Starfelt, Taylor is acceptable for domestic games, Ralston instead of an injured AJ should also be sufficient. Once we start putting the others in though we are in BIG trouble and you only need look back to the games at the end of last season after the league was won for proof. Defence-wise this transfer window we should be bringing in a CB to start and a LB to do the same(all due respect to Starfelt and Taylor who would still have a big role to play).

CCV, Ralston and Bain had similar ops after the end of the season.

If CCV isn't making the start of the season good chance Ralston isn't either. Not seen him in any of the preseason training, although he definitely travelled to Portugal.

He played injured latter part of the season, might do it again I guess to cover the start but would be a bit daft.
