Calm down man doesn't matter a * what they are doing. Just cause they are signing players doesn't mean we panic and jump in to do what they are doing. The 2 players we've already signed as rotation/back up and some people seem to not even count as signings would prob walk into their starting 11 and would be all over the papers making a big deal. Trust the process we started flinging money around in summer 2020 and look where that got us.

It makes sense with a change in manager there would be a pause in signings. The way Brendan will set up the team will be different from that of Ange, the type of player he favours will be different. Irons that were in the fire will have been removed and new targets identified as Rodgers gets up to speed the team he's inherited. It's very early days, we've no qualifiers, no fire that needs putting out asap.

Agree with all of that. But I'm an anxiety ridden * by nature.

Re Der Hun, look at what they stopped 10oar with? Pure *, journey men and over hill the mercs.
I'll never be comfortable as long as their "breathing". Theyre bedding in their new signings early and are definitely taking a big financial gamble to stop us this year.
I'd just be a * of alot more comfortable if they had 2 or 3 major signings with us now, at the pre season camp and putting the work in.

The other poster was dramatic and panicking….but I do actually thing the huns transfers this far have been their best in a long long time. Our squad right now is still better. But I think they’ll definitely be a better outfit this year so we need to make sure any signings are above the quality we have right now

You said it yourself: they bought * players. Their best signing that year was COVID.

We're substantially weaker now with injuries and departures than end of last season..

Needs to pick up, and soon.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that there are no further Celtic contract extensions in the works after a flurry of long-term Parkhead commitments - as he looks to bolster the champions' attacking options.

There's been a wave goodbye made at the Premiership champions recently with Jota heading to Saudi Arabia and big-spending Al-Ittihad, but attentions closer to home have focused on getting key stars long-term. Callum McGregor, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda have all pledged their futures to the Parkhead cause under Rodgers, following on from a Treble last season under Ange Postecoglou.

Addressing the media as his side undergo pre-season training in Portugal, the Irishman says there won't be anymore men signing on the dotted line imminently. Rodgers said: "Nothing pending at the moment. People talk about players coming in but I think it is important that you keep your best players where you can. Callum is a fantastic boost for the squad. Daizen and Kyogo have been outstanding players for the club.

So to tie them down is great business by the club. For Callum to extend his time for another five years is absolutely brilliant

He is such a pivotal player now and the real heartbeat of the team, but also how he leads the team is superb. So I am really happy and if we can add some more strength over the coming weeks, it will put us in a great place to take on the challenges we'll face."

Jota's departure will also see Celtic target players in the forward areas. He added: "The modern game, for a lot of players, it’s also a business for them. Careers are short and (Jota’s) been given an opportunity to go and look after himself and his family, so we have to respect that. So he’s gone and of course we have so many talented players here, but we’d like to do some business in that area of the team as well.”

I really hope we start to get some concrete rumours over the next week, it's not panic stations yet, but I'd have expected some more activity outside the project signings by now.

Same, hopefully will now with the injuries racking up already and the toughest start to the season possible. I know we will definitely make signings but I’d rather get some done and give players more time to bed in, especially if they are going to be chucked straight into the competitive stuff.

Under Ange fans were all buzzing of getting the business done early and what a difference it makes etc etc…Now if you mention it, it’s back to this “these things take time, still weeks until the start of the season”. Some can’t make up their mind.

Time marching on now and it’s now only 23 days until the proper stuff starts.

We didn't get most of our summer business done early under Ange though, it's a complete myth people are building up in their heads while they panic about this window.

He sounds quite relaxed when speaking briefly about transfers there, leads me to think we might have a few quite far along hopefully.

If we are going for better quality of players then these players are going to have lots of options and will take Celtic time to offer them the best offer .
We could be like sevco and just fill out squad with frees and players who are not in demand from other teams and they sign for them as there aren't other clubs giving them a offer .
There's still 3 weeks before our first league game so a lot can happen in that time .

Rodgers is very confident, we will be spending a few quid, we need to trust the recruitment team.

Good things come to those who wait.

Would make sense to sort out CalMacs contract, as well as Kyogos contract squared up before pushing the boat out for a signing so there's no drama in the squad, thats geen me a bit of hope
