    Undoubtedly a fantastic talent, but I think we went so long without a player with such flair that he’s a tad overrated.

    Don’t buy into the stuff that we’ll never replace him. We continuously come up against similar or lesser teams in Europe which have annoyingly skilful wingers.

    Will we miss him if we simply take the dough for him and bank it, aye. Will that happen but? Naw…

    The money being talked about is more important to us than Jota would be, it could fund 3 excellent additions.

    Exactly how I feel. I actually feel more excited about this window with all the movement so early not less. Of course, I will never underestimate the capacity of Celtic to screw up a position of strength; but there's every reason to be confident that that's not happening at the moment.

    The more I think about it, the more I think getting Rodgers in again was a real indication of what we want to do here.

    Financially I mean his great grand children will be set for life.

    But can't help but feel that this is the death of his career.

    Having said that would you take the death of your career if you're making 10 million a year? I'd dare say he'll get at least a 3 year contract that he'll see out so realistically he'll make himself a nice wee earner

    Thing is there's far lesser players who'd do well over there so I dunno.

    I think it's just gonna be a regular occurrence now on. You've got the usual Brazilian journeymen who still go there and rip it up despite not having had stellar careers beforehand.

    That may change over the coming years but they're still only allowed 8 foreign players in each squad...for now.
