Imagine your kids growing up knowing they'll never have to work a day in their life as dad is mega mega loaded...odds are high they'll turn out very selfish and very spoilt.... and if they have to work they'll resent dad for making them work..money can ruin families too...some of my cousins are really selfish and one even admitted to me they're just waiting for their dad to die so they can claim the inheritance.

if SA does put a dent in the EPL..they may be more open to us and the blue tarts moving in.

Saudi and Qatar hate each other so I also think this is Saudi's way of getting back at Qatar for the world cup

Even if I knew I could give my kids so much money they've never work again, I'd lie and say "I'll double your wage whatever you decide to do"

Then when there about 30 and probably learned not to be too much of a spoiled brat, most likely married and a family and not a junkie then I'd get soft and make them loaded aswel :56:

Alas they'll get my house, an empty bank balance and that's if care home costs don't end up taking it.

Don't get me wrong. I think they can do it and I agree that oil prices will be high for a few years yet, barring a massive global recession. I'm just pointing out that it's not a sustainable model in any way.

100% agree with this, don't understand the thinking of making sure the children are taken care all their life. I love my babies as dearly as much as any other * does, but they need to create their own path and not suckle at the parents * all their lives

The common denominator there is that those two guys are already career rich. Jota, relative speaking, is not.

That's all very well and good while he's working. That 5k per week won't carry you very far if you chuck it at 35.

Jamie Vardy is on £100k a week at Leicester. That's £5m a year. He's been on that sort of cash since he won the league with Leicester 7 years ago. That's over £35m in a salary. That doesn't take into account his merchandise deals, his sponsers and everything else like bonuses etc.

There is also a complete different set of personal circumstances. Vardy is married, with children who all go to school. He probably doesn't want to leave them here and go away and work across there for 2 years. He's quite happy getting paid a significantly good salary and living his life here.

Jota is young, with no wife or kids. He's on his own. He's on a fifth of what Vardy is. He's about to make double what Vardy has, and 4 times what Vardy makes after tax. It's obscene amounts of money.

Aye, I get that. It's clearly an easier decision to make if you're already wealthy. I'm not criticising Jota for going despite being disappointed about losing our best player. I'm just making the point that there are people who would turn it down. Money is clearly a huge motivating factor for a lot of people, especially the less wealthy, but it's not the only consideration for many.

Anyway, we're losing a quality player who will be hard to replace. I'm more disappointed about that than any moral dilemma here.

Scenes when it's announced there's a clause to loan him back for 2 years fully paid and we all love the Saudis

Our own billionaire could have spent enough to compete with city and still have a few billion. Turns out you need trillionaires to not be tight these days :56:

Well at 72 years old, a net worth of over €2bn should last him until he kicks the bucket.
