    Quote from article attached below

seems they are well on their way to securing long term deals for broadcasting. Isn’t there talk of them hosting a world cup too? Perhaps by pushing the league status will help them achieve their aim

In January, IMG secured short-term television deals for the Saudi Professional League around the world, from the United Kingdom to Nigeria. Other regions where deals were struck included Australia, Brazil, Romania, Italy, France, Germany, China and Turkey.

IMG has a proven track record of providing television rights, which are crucial to the success of the English Premier League abroad. It is the Premier League’s international production partner, which includes the production and distribution of a global match feed of all 380 matches per season to broadcasters and rights holders all over the world.

Other clients include FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, the National Hockey League and rugby.

It is noteworthy that Prince Abdulaziz bin Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports in Saudi Arabia, said in a previous statement that the presence of 138 channels broadcasting the Saudi League competitions around the world contributes to what Saudi Arabia aims for. From promoting tourism, and appearing on the scene of sporting events internationally. Al-Faisal said, “Our goal is to develop Saudi sports, bring international events to be held in Saudi Arabia, and give the Kingdom’s young men and women the opportunity to organize.”

They done it with the Chinese league but I must admit I will be surprised as well if sky try and get the rights to the Saudi league. The Saudis essentially have a bottomless pit of cash with the teams being government funded we've seen how quickly they've taken over Golf and Boxing. I think we will see either a new global tournament set up or Saudi clubs qualifying for the Champions league in a few years if they keep throwing money at it the way they are.

Gary Neville is a wee weasel I despise the wee * he's a walking contradiction at the start of the year he was more than happy to take the Qatari money and go to the world cup but that was ok cos he gave a monologue about migrant workers or some *. On top of that the obvious hypocrisy with sky and buying football. Even further on top of that his Salford side have essentially bought themselves a place in the football league

Nobody in england is coming to us and offering him 100k a month now though are they? And that's halved with tax. 200k is on the table for him right now, he's supposed to dinghy that because maybe he might get another decent move at some point in the future? Get a grip mate.

Can picture it already, playing in Saudi on a Thursday night and up to Dingwall or Pittodrie for a 12 kick off on the Saturday.
(Obv exaggerating but you get the general idea)

What point are you trying to make about being coached by John Kennedy?

I'm assuming his career ending injury. It's a valid point tbf. It's an unpredictable sport. You could be forced out the game at any time.

Lol I see you like to post the old :56:emoji, you really are lacking in the brain department aren’t you. If you have some kind of mental health issue then I won’t mock you anymore for repeating yourself over and over with the same £200,000 ‘bag’ *. Just out of interest what does ‘bag’ mean? I take it you know what it means.

I always felt like the Chinese league was more just people having an amusing experiment to look at. This feels more dangerous to the status quo. And * me if it wasn’t the source it’s coming from, I’d be all behind it just to shake things up and disrupt the power balance that’s got a grip of football.

Weirdly I actually like Neville, * hated him as a player as well but I get your point about him, I’d no care to stick up for him cos you’re pretty much spot on. Still like him but haha

John Kennedy, getting called up to a Scotland squad would have been planning out a full career ahead of him, what he could win, what he could earn, sometimes in football waiting a year or two’s just not possible.

Aye I agree with you on the Chinese league the Saudis will be in this for the long haul I think.

I used to quite like him and still he says things and I find myself nodding along then I think about stuff he has done which totally contradicts it. Did you see him on Have I Got News for You? It was toe curling. I hate the wee * no sure if that's coming through :giggle1:

I didn’t see that mate but I can imagine. I really wanted to keep hating him cos he is a wee weasel, guys football opinions and tactical insight is * brilliant and not the usual pointing out the obvious, and I find myself finding it insightful and nodding along as well like ahh I didn’t realise that. And then I ended up quite enjoying it when he covered games. And I judge myself harshly for it, never been more annoyed to like a *.

Already have answered it. And it’s not a serious point you’re making with that and if it is it may actually be worse. Get it straight to *.
