They done it with the Chinese league but I must admit I will be surprised as well if sky try and get the rights to the Saudi league. The Saudis essentially have a bottomless pit of cash with the teams being government funded we've seen how quickly they've taken over Golf and Boxing. I think we will see either a new global tournament set up or Saudi clubs qualifying for the Champions league in a few years if they keep throwing money at it the way they are.

I always felt like the Chinese league was more just people having an amusing experiment to look at. This feels more dangerous to the status quo. John Kennedy, getting called up to a Scotland squad would have been planning out a full career ahead of him, what he could win, what he could earn, sometimes in football waiting a year or two’s just not possible.
