This Saudi money certainly has the English rattled.. Didn't hear him complain too much about the Newcastle takeover

    * them. Goes from a Quatari club to a Saudi club big deal. Not only is it arrogance but it’s fear that their big gravy train is coming to an end.

EPL has been inflating the market for 20+ years, now they want to cry about it because someone richer has came along, get it right up them.

We should be over pricing every single one of our players that the Saudis come in for.

See if the mad * will pay it.......

Footballing terms he is not Wealthy, we both know this.

The fact of the matter is this offer is on the table to set him up for life, it’s come at 24, a time where he needs to make a decision.

Take 200k a week for 4/5 years and secure your life or take a chance that someone from a big league comes in in the next couple of years and that’s not to say it’s going to be the money being offered now.

He might have a top 5/6 team in England come in and win nothing with them and have a better deal he is on now at Celtic but nowhere near what he is going to get in SA.

He would be on less money at a mid level team in Spain, Germany etc and still could win nothing.

He could end up with a career ending injury or make him free fall.

All ifs and buts just like what you have said, about a bigger league etc but that’s not guaranteed, this offer on the table right now is.

People are looking at this as a Celtic fan and not as someone who didn’t grow up loving the club and support us.

You are offered this deal you are taking it, I won’t chance my stance on what I’ve said before either. That’s the beauty of a forum.

I dont mean to be flippant and apologies for chopping your post.

You are right 'in football terms' he might not be in the top bracket of earners.

He's earning north of 20k a week though.

Seriously how much do people need?

There doesn't seem to be a lot of goodness in this world just now.

    Edit

This is more a general musing than an attack on Jota.

If you can't make minimum 15 years at roughly a million a year depending on your talent, set you and your family up for life, you are being very badly advised.

Thing is although fee not agreed Jota's head well and truly turned so sort of have to sell him now and Saudis know this. Money no option to them but reckon we don't get as much as first thought

All the English teams are Saudi, Chinese, Qatari and American.

They just play their football in England.

Head turned for what? I think even he realizes the failure of this transfer would not be the end of the world.

Football in Saudi Arabia is going into a frenzy over Jota - with rival fans even demanding their club hijack the deal.

The Celtic star is believed to have agreed terms on a switch to Al-Ittihad who are ready to make Jota their third blockbuster European arrival, having already landed Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and N'Golo Kante from Chelsea this summer. The Hoops are reluctant to sell but there's a feeling the £25m bid is seen as too good to turn down, while Jota has been tempted by a long-term deal worth almost £200,000 per week untaxed.

The hype is hitting fever pitch and fans at Al-Ahli - not to be confused with Egyptian giants Al-Ahly - have taken to social media to demand the club hijack the deal. According to Almowaten, an Arabic hashtag is trending on Twitter which translates to "Felipe Jota, Ahlawi’s demand," with a club ultras group leading calls for president Khaled Al-Essa to move in on negotiations. There's nothing yet to suggest a rival bid will surface but interest elsewhere could strengthen Celtic's negotiating position in talks which are continuing apace...

From the Daily Record so prolly pish...dont click on the links tho. all record pages I think.

It's just the whole "10 million a year, canny turn that doon"

When you're earning 12 quid an hour yes you might have a point.

See when you earn 20k a week. What purchase is off limits to you? Why do you need 10 times the amount?

Can anyone tell me why this is becoming such an accepted fact while people are using foodbanks?
