And there's * all wrong with that, the same way if someone takes a lower wage to be with their family is also an option.

There is no right or wrong way, but there's more than one way.

I don't think there's any doubt that celtic will try for as much money as they can get.

I've no doubt they'll have tried to get him to stay.

Can't keep a player that wants away but.

We’ve routinely undersold our best players.

The fact the poodles aren’t bleating on about Celtic holding out for more tells me the board is happy with £20-25m.

    * gutted about this one, not gonna lie we will be losing a massive player here who can score and change a game when it matters.

Aye we will replace him at some point but my issue is are targets identified already?

I hope wont be dragging things out etc. I know * moan about the board and Lawwell, I’ve been one of them in the past.

They can’t * about regarding this window, it’s important we don’t give them * an inch over the city.

Also * saying about Jota should stay and accept lower money and he will be set for his family for generations……. Utter *. Look at these footballers who played in the Premier league who was on more than Jota years ago still having to work, media etc to keep up their lifestyle, * forget about all that.

Football and supporting Celtic aside if this was any other job role if you are offered the reported £192k a week for let’s say 4/5 years tax free you are taking it. If you say you wouldn’t you are lying to yourself.

Agents get the blame all the time, but players have autonomy of choice.

They aren’t gullible idiots. If Jota leaves it will be because Jota wants to leave, not because his agent does.

Unfortunately players have all the power mate. If Jota wants away there's nothing the board can do but to try and negotiate the best fee they can get.

It’s stupid money if the wages are true. Nobody would seriously say no to that.

Need to rinse them for all their worth if he’s going. £25m honestly feels like we’re underselling him given who’s bidding for him, and how much they’re paying him.

It’ll be around £25M with a 20-30% sell on, we could ask for more but then would be dropping the sell on %. I’ve no doubt with a couple of good seasons in Saudi he could get another big move.

2 good seasons in Saudi Arabia can get players moves to Qatar, that's it. It's a footballing dead end. If we are indeed selling, we should ask for obscene money up front and forget about sell-on percentages.

I don’t think a sell on fee is worth much in this case.

If he’s successful in Saudi they won’t sell
him for anything anyone would realistically pay. It’s hardly a league you go to in order to prove yourself and go on to the EPL, La Liga etc.

Every time the ‘beautiful game’ appears to be unable to get any uglier, it surprises me.

If he’s being offered stupid money and there’s a concrete bid if £20m-£25m, then it’s not as simple as rejecting the bid and demanding more.

Call him whatever you like but once a guy has an offer of £10m a year on his table he’s highly likely to be demotivated if that gets taken away.

We’d have to be fairly incompetent if we can’t replace Jota and improve our squad overall for £20m-£25m. It’s something we should be accepting.

Perhaps in the past but there will be more focus on it now as a league, like it or not.

I'm 90% confident that by age 26 he could still get a move back to a top 5 league.

Man United signed that Ighalo ffs when he was like 30. Albeit as a third striker option but I don't think it's as simple as you go there and disappear now. Unless you're a lot older.

If he gets demotivated after the club saves his chances of realizing a stellar career, then he should just give up football. It's in his best interest this rumor goes nowhere.
