Destroy the Bosman ruling and bring back McLean signing players on 20 year contracts

You suggest we expect him to stay and we've received no official bid..

Two hours later, McGowan effectively confirms he's close to going.

We haven't won a European knockout tie in 19 years.

He’s shown nothing to be considered anything like a ‘terrific option’.

Maeda is a forward whose greatest attribute is his defensive work. He’s technically absolutely miles off what we need to be competing at any sort of decent level.

Again, Jota is several levels above any other options there. The drop off is massive.

Trying to compare Bruce what's his * puss at Gretna to this isn't even worth it :giggle1:

Even Anzhi and Malaga were backed by individual owners. You're essentially going up against an entire nation here flood with money who also already own some big clubs across Europe.

Folk are kidding themselves if they think the money is drying up soon

Genuinely thought we’d get one more season out of him but there you go, be surprised if he doesn’t go now.

20m to Saudi would be a shocking deal by us to be honest and there’s no need for us to be short changed on him given how long he has left on his deal.

Get him sold and spend £10-15m on a new winger, keep the upgrades coming.

Aye I agree I like Haksa and have defended him previously but if we start the season with Haksa and Maeda on the wings that's a massive red flag. I don't even think Haksas best position is out wide

I think we'll end up getting more than £20m, probably be our record sale - the article seemed very vague when mentioning fees.

For what it's worth, it's our player trading model in action and we should trust ourselves to replace Jota. We can spend that money across the squad on two quality players, and then hopefully repeat this in two seasons time.

It hurts seeing our best players leave, but it's just the reality of modern-day football.

    100%..

Haksabanovic has shown some lovely touches and scored a few crackers against tired legs but when in for any starts/sustained game time he's been posted missing and generally fallen off/ended up injured and out..

I like some of his attributes but it isn't enough for us. Probably any he's been shipped around and no really settled anywhere as he's far too slow and doesn't have the engine..

The fee isn’t the problem it’s the wages. We would need to do away with our current structure.

    What's this?

He'd be an excellent signing. No the creativity and guile of Jota but rapid, dynamic and can make things happen in the final third. Also proven he can cut it in the champions league..

But that's not what we're trying to do. At any given stage, we will be weaker in some areas than the previous season and stronger in others as we sell players who reach the end of the cycle (like Jota apparently), buy new players at the start of the cycle and develop players who are in the middle of the cycle.

Would take the money and sign two really (on paper) good wingers.

Tete and someone for the left. Then that leave you with the other areas to sort without having really touched his supposed initial budget.
