I dont see him going to Saudi. He is young, talented and ambitious. He has his best footballing years ahead of him and is on the periphery of the national team. If he leaves, it will be to a bigger league.

We’re only getting 70% of any transfer fee, so would need to be huge money for us to let go of him.

Tierney went for £25m 4 years ago. The market has changed since then and fees are even more inflated now.

Jota is more talented than Tierney as well. If he goes for the same price then we've been robbed.

We’ve not received an official offer, but believe there is interest.

Their manager also had an interest in Jota when he was down south.

Tell the Saudi team to go and get *, they don’t have enough money, Jota is the brightest prospect in our team.

Would Jota rather play for Celtic in the Champions league than play in the Saudi League? Aye….but the amount of money he will be getting offered will be enough to convince anyone to sell their soul. Money has been ruining football for decades but this is now as worse as it has ever been.

I hope I’m wrong but I think given free licence he would pay over inflated prices for ‘known’ players from bigger clubs.

But that might be unfair. Hopefully just my anxieties about the coming season.

So jota currently on holiday brokers a deal via his agent while currently being contracted to us even before the new manager has had a chance to look at the team he will be trying to guide to greater heights in Europe, nah a smell shoite.

I wouldn't like it myself if he or anyone else left for Saudi, but money talks. A footballers career is short, 15-20 years max on professional contracts, and most of them need to maximize profit on the shortest amount of time. Its not beyond the realms of possibility that Jota leaves if he's offered crazy money to play in Saudi for four years. Question is, how much money does it take to look away from inprisoning homosexuals, public beheadings in the town square and women being property of their men?

Bah, I'm more worried about losing him to some mid-table EPL side. If he goes to Saudi Arabia, he's not the sort of player I want to keep anyway. I don't think he is that sort of person, though, so I doubt he'll be going there.

As Mr Shelby said above (if I understood him right), this reeks of a massive PR campaign linking them with good young players. If it's successful, it could be that it becomes a very good league in a couple of years and perhaps we will need to worry about losing good players to them in a year or two (I have no idea whether they will succeed or not); but here and now, any young player who goes there has the wrong attitude for Celtic anyway.

Honestly, if the moneys right then im down.
Even more so now that I'm starting to trust the scouting department again.

The whole model is based on buying potential and selling big and the cycle goes on.

As long as the replacement is of similar ability/potential then it makes sense.

So we bring back Rodgers with massive backing only to * him over and sell anyone who's remotely champions league level?

Yup didn't think so. File under pish.

You think Jota is going to turn down the sort of money on offer from a Saudi club
