There’s always offers too good to refuse. Rodger’s is aware of the reality of that. However if it’s not ‘too good to refuse’ and with how long we have left on Jota’s contract, I’m in the camp of he’ll be here till at least next year. He’s been here two seasons but he only signed last year, we have time on our side.

And his attitude isn’t the type to go in a huff and not produce if it doesn’t go his way this time round, like both Boyata and especially Ntcham were prone to. Balls in our court, either a ridiculous price or he stays at this point I feel.

If there is a genuine bid of £30m, then it gets accepted.
    No way around it.

Jota is fantastic and I want him to stay. I think he would as well, specially under Rodgers who will bring him on a level as well.
But we would be mental not to accept that sort of money. He may still reject the context, happy days if so, but that bid gets accepted every day of the week.

That said, there is no * bid.

I said if we were to sell Jota it shouldn't be for anything less than 30 million and if we got a bid for that we probably would sell. That * clown @honda said I was fantasising about selling Jota and then some ramblings about Ntcham and Boyata

You just keep your filthy * mouth shut!

    He's going nowhere.

£30m might be a lot of money but we wouldn't get someon3 anywhere near as handsome or cool.

For near that value? Boyata was £9m and Ntcham £13m/£14m but was a lot to do with add ons that value. Both nowhere near £30m.

For what it’s worth, can’t see a £30m bid for Jota unless he gets called up and has a performance that we know he can do for Portugal or has 6 stormers in the CL this season.

Judging by last season, I think he’d be capable of that,

Did Boyata not run his contract down? And less said about the Ntcham saga the better. Neither of which have any relevance on Jota.

We knocked back £9m when he had a year left on it. Then he ran it down.

Seems mental in hindsight (and at the time tbf) but when you look at what BR was getting back into the team money wise, he would rather the player than a fee for the club he wouldn’t see at that point.

Another reason why it’s very important for manager and board to have a symbiotic relationship.

The Ntcham is tragic in hindsight, there was probably less than 1% of * that wanted to take it at the time, he had 3 odd year left on his contract and looked like he had everything to take it right to the top, after BR and Dembele fell out, Ntcham went in a strop. Briefly made a return under Lenny in the 9 season when big Julien came in and took the French boys under his wing and then stropped again majorly for the 10 season, in a huff about us promising Eddy a move and then blocking it from happening (similar to what we done with Moussa).

He was a huffy wee *. Funny enough he started at Swansea looking unbeatable and has slowly petered out to frustration with flashes of brilliance from what I’ve heard from a cousin who lives down there. A player equipped with everything to take himself to the elite level, except the most important part - mentality.

For me, it depends whether he wants to go. If he wants to go and if the money is right, we sell and reinvest. Hopefully we've learned our lesson there.

If he's happy to stay, I'm happy for us to keep him another season. He's on a long enough contract.

BTW: if Ange really is in for 2 of our players already, then I will retract what I said aout him having not really done anything wrong.

Yeah there was some really bizarre decisions back then. I honestly couldn’t believe we'd knocked back that kind of money for Ntcham, considering some of the players we sold for similar and less.. never Fancied Ntcham, way too inconsistent

That part whether he wants to or not really mate. If he wants to stay but we get something mad like £30m plus 10% future sell on, then he’s offski if he likes it or no really. If he wants to leave and we get something equally as mad like £10m take it or leave it, then like it or lump it, he’ll be staying here.
