I think we just have to accept that side of him for what it is this time and have a bit of a laugh with it. I won't be taking any of his press conferences too seriously but hope he comes out with a few Brentish lines for the good old times.

Nobody sounds natural when they're made to do those "talk directly to the fans" videos to be fair. Actual interview will be better I imagine.

 

Not quite what I said, but you're right I am taking more of an interest than I said I would. Celtic are my team after all.

The * is here and so we have to make the best of it, but I don't want to hear him spouting any *, just the job done or * off.

 

I rate him as a coach and think that this positive outweighs the obvious negatives; but I'm not so impressed with his first message. Very proud...dream again...hail hail. Yawn.

Just do your talking on the training pitch. When I see us in a EL QF, SF or final, then I'll start to dream again, talk is cheap.

There’s not much else he can say, what did you expect him to say?

 

"I will work very hard to continue the success this football has enjoyed over the past 2 seasons and I'm determined to build a team that will excite the supporters."

Something like that.

Don't talk about the last time (he did). Don't tell us how "proud" and "honoured" you are (he did). Don't try to get the same buy in to the relationship as last time (he did: "I hope that I can come back... to make you dream again"). Don't say "hail hail" as if you were a fan (he did).

I suppose he at least didn't kiss the badge or thump it a la Ange or anything like that. Small mercies and all that. I still think his coaching excellence makes it worth putting up with this insincere nonsense, though.

Just about anything he said would appear hollow.

If I were in charge of drafting his opening gambit:
“Awright troops, I was a * before and I’m maybe still a * but who cares, I’m back to scud the zombies and try do some damage in Europe. If yer still * off, fire yer tampon back in. I’ll see yeez aw soon - Hail Hail”

Let’s get behind the man and support him and he can bring great success to us again. Who gives a * If he looks nervous. We as fans should give him a proper welcome back and show him how good the Celtic support is. I’m buzzing for pre season to start to have a look at the football

 

Be interesting to see his presser tomorrow think he needs to address how he left even if he stops short of apologising..
