If I was a young player with buckets of potential not getting the coaching he needed under a dinosaur of a manager I'd probably have jumped at a decent offer from a bundesliga club as well, doesn't mean his enthusiam for the game wasn't genuine, he was obviously loving it when he first arrived, he just made a decision putting his own career and development first and it's proving to be a good one.

No he’s not but I think he could be one in an Ange team.

It’s no surprise he is having a very good season (probably his best so far) after being played as a right wing back/ right midfielder in a 3-5-2 rather than a conventional right back as he isn’t very good defensively.

I think if one of those clubs linked with him sign him as a normal full back he will get exposed defensively.

Spot on. He left what was a sinking ship at the time because a better team in a much better league wanted to sign him. And it's clearly been the correct decision, seeing as he's now tearing that league up and will be playing for one of the best/biggest teams on the planet soon.

These people in our support who have a problem with players leaving us to move to a better league (particularly when they're not boyhood Celtic fans), are * clowns. That's how football works.

Just how many players has Lenny mismanaged or forced to move on, I still think we will never know the true damage he did during his second spell here for years, I hope we at least were smart enough to put in a sell on clause in the deal

I don't blame Lenny or Frimpong for his moving on. It was £15m for a kid that honestly didn't fit that well into how we played at the time. Was continually just bombing up the wing and getting lost, defending was not good especially in terms of decision-making. If it's on anyone, it's on our coaching, as he came on leaps and bounds the second he jumped ship.

He was one of my fave players. He would have been great for Ange.

    Another assist today..

That's 8 goals and 8 assists in 33 games, if flashscore is right and they've no included it during the game?

We're gonna earn a fortune on him this summer..

    Always liked the lad.

When he first arrived there was a determination and physicality to his game which often was overlooked as he ended up being put sole creative/attacking threat as he close to leaving.

A guy like him would see his potential explode under a guy like Ange.

Hopefully he fetches a good fee by going to a club who's desperate and stupid with money to get success.

Which is pretty much the entire EPL.

Seems a long long time ago I saw him play. Was raging when he abandoned ship but didn't think he worth that fee at that time. He left during a time that will always make me feel sick when I think of how that season went. Hopefully get a decent fee for him

Certainly would be great to see him sold this summer so we could get a nice sell on fee for him like we did when Van Dijk went to Liverpool.

Real Madrid sniffing. Celtic reportedly due 30% sellon which coincidentally is what we had to pay to man city when he left us, if true and the £34m is accurate thats just over £10m to us!

Jeremie Frimpong admits he got cold feet before joining Celtic but will never forget his 'father and son' bond with Neil Lennon.

The former Manchester City star was signed in a coup deal for Celtic for just £350,000 in September 2019 from the Etihad, as he penned a four-year contract but would only end up spending 18 months in Glasgow. Frimpong was immensely popular during his time at Parkhead and left with a Treble under ex-boss Lennon. Bayer Leverkusen soon swooped in and offered the Scottish champions a handsome £12million for the defender's services.

Now the Dutchman could be heading to giants Manchester United or Real Madrid in the summer with a hefty price tag of £35million plus being set as the bar by the Bundesliga side for bidding. That could land Brendan Rodgers new side up to £6m should the 22-year-old go for a fee more than £40m

The youngster lifted the lid on the manic few hours that led to his Parkhead arrival, but he concedes at one point he wanted to back out of the move to Scotland. Yet the defender was given sage advice by his brother that sparked his interest again.

Speaking to the Rising Ballers podcast, he said: "It was just a normal day. Just going into training and I am going on my phone and seeing links to Celtic. Jeremie this, Jeremie that. So I am like 'Yo, things are getting real.' My team-mates were asking why I wasn't going to training. Afterwards they came in and said 'Jeremie is it true you are leaving? We are like brothers.

"I packed to go to Celtic and I said to my agent and the driver 'let's turn around I don't want to go no more'. My agent was stressing. He was so stressed, he was saying 'Jeremie you don't understand this opportunity. This is life changing. This is first-team. This is Celtic. Big history and they play Champions League.'

My brother text me on the phone and said forget about your friends. I understand how you are feeling but you said you wanted to be a footballer. There comes a time in your life that you need to leave your friends and need to sacrifice a lot, even your family. That journey starts now. Once he said that I was like 'ok we are going'. They were like brothers to me and leaving them was one of the worst things I had to go through."

Frimpong admits Lennon was branded as his 'dad' on the Lennoxtown training field and that he still 'loves' the former Hoops boss to this day. He added: "My time at Celtic was amazing. I won everything there. There was this manager called Neil Lennon. I love him till this day. He loves me. Our relationship was like father and son. Sometimes the players would say go and speak to your dad and things like that. After we won the cup I think I ran to him and we both started laughing

I remember when I got the red card (in 2019 League Cup final against Rangers) I was like 'oh my days what did I just do?' We were leading 1-0 but that red card was a penalty for them. I was like 'what did I just do?' If they score now I am off and we are down to ten men against Rangers.

"I remember watching the penalty and Fraser Forster saved it. That moment I was so happy but than I had to relax as there was 30 minutes to go. I was sent to a room to watch it on TV. This was the worst time of my life but when the whistle went it was the best feeling."

I'm surprised he's going for as low as £35 million. POTY for his club, in a top league and still very young, thought it'd be closer to £60 million.

    * what could have been with this lad... even for just a season if he had either Ange (especially I'd say) or Rodgers coaching him

But * * a player getting the recognition from the fans and club in the level of league he plays in, with his age?

Absolutely £35mill is incredibly low figure

Is a 30% sell on not based on profit? Therefore it would be 30% of 24 million?
