Wee guys on here ready to pop a * at the mere suggestion it should be up to the manager in pre season to decide what players are worth keeping and which need to he sold and not the Da's on talkcektic. :56:

There is every chance he will get game time ahead of Haksa but that will be up to Rodgers to * in pre season.

Yes, a provincial club with 1 trophy in 100 years. Drop the thick * act, you are embarrassing yourself.

He’s not good enough, we don’t need to continually give him chances in the hope something miraculous is going to happen. If he wasn’t our player and we went and bought him it would be beyond uninspiring - a 24 year old consistently injury prone winger who played a bit part for a provincial Portuguese club with * stats.

    I'll be more specific

    Haksa Apperances 40 G 5 A 4

    Mikey Apperances 31 G 3 A 5

Pretty similar stats and Mikey played the bulk of his time against better opposition than Haksa was facing.

But I think we both know that stats are part of a picture not the full story. I actually did watch his matches and he impressed me more last season than Haksa did for us. To suggest that he hasn't earned a chance to show BR what he can do in pre season or that Haksa is clear of him is wee man nonsense.

Nice to see the kind of sane, ballanced and well thought out reply I've come to expect from you. You can take a breath now.

But will Rodgers use those stats to judge a player ? :giggle1:

Look I don't think Haksa is a world beater by any stretch but this transfer window for me we need to be ruthless and looking to improve the starting XI if we are serious about having a crack in Europe. Mikey Johnston would be nowhere near the bench for me.

Stats dont back that up and neither does what my eyes saw last season. They are pretty well matched.

Haksa doesn't have the stamina needed for us. Will see he how he gets on under Rodgers and if he can address that issue but atm he is a player we can and I expect will improve on.

Don’t dish out insults if you clearly can’t handle the reply on a similar vein…

What I'm saying is the current starters will be dropping on to the bench. We need to be looking to shift deadwood on not bringing back more of it Mikey Johnston is 24 and has shown little to nothing across his career to suggest he will make it here

You are the one calling people * because they had the audacity to suggest it's up the manager in pre season to decide what players will be sold and kept. But aye I can't handle insults :56: at least I can get a laugh out of you if nothing else.

You think Jota and Daizen will be warming the bench next season? I doubt that very much. Daizen needs to work on his end product and BR is the perfect coach for that but wingers is not a priority position for is in the summer for me.

How much more specific can you get than by MINUTES played.

Mikey has spent more time on the pitch to effect a game and came out with lesser numbers

2 of Mikey's goals were against a 3rd tier side and an assist against a team who relegated from 2nd to 3rd tier. I personally don't think either him or Haksa are good enough to lift the club to the next level. I think it would probably be best for Johnston if he leaves and makes a career abroad.
