Yes. The same isn’t going to apply to every player in our current squad but I think it does for Johnston.

I don't trust him to stay fit tbh. Not really his fault, but with the amount of injury issues he's already had in his career it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they crept up again if he were to feature for us again.

He's a joy to watch when firing on all cylinders but unfortunately that's not often enough so far for Celtic. Interesting to see what BR does with him. I think personally he's just a level below what we should be going for now.

    Still ya never know

I thought that about Forrest. The man who has just taken over totally transformed him however.

Yet stayed fit all season in Portugal strange one to say. He said in an interview recently he understood his body more and the best ways to stay fit.

I’d rather give vata the opportunities than Johnston, and that’s nothing against mikey. It’s purely financial… mikey now has a full season in portugal and good showings for Ireland. We could definitely get a £3-4 million bid from a team down south either bottom of the prem or championship as that’s nothing money to them. I think Vata has a much higher potential/sell on fee

No hatred, he isn’t the player a lot of people think he is. In fact he’s nowhere close. That’s it.

Vitoria clearly have a very good fitness and conditioning team. More technical league too so less getting hacked down by hammer throwers would have helped him.

Will be interesting to see if getting a full injury free season under his belt will have improved his overall fitness levels and we now see him kick on.

Personally think he's the left footed RW we've been missing, potentially better than prime Paddy Roberts...

That game he got injured, knew we was struggling for players and to see out a game (against Killie?) And tried to play through the injury, only to unfortunately make it worse.
Young lad trying to give his all for his team, Lennon does the "* off" as he walks off.
My own assumption being he's likely been "sorry boss" to Lennon and Lennon's been an absolute * to him.

That for me screwed him up big time. Already bad for injuries, a manager killed his confidence and is known to be absolutely useless in developing talent.

I'd honestly be okay to see him come back in to the squad and see what Rodgers can truly do with him.
He was just 19/20 as Rodgers was leaving Celtic, not a great amount of time for him then, but could do something with him now.

If he's sorted his fitness and injuries, Rodgers is the guy who could get him back on track.

For me he's always had talent. Hampered by injuries and a loss of confidence. If he can get past those, I think he can be a decent squad player that ticks the European squad homegrown quota box.

Didn't he say in an interview that the doctors thought they had finally got to the bottom of the problem that had caused most of his injury issues. Obviously no guarantee that he'll stay fit, but should be available a lot more than before.

The ship has long since sailed, I’ve seen and read posts (and during conversations in the pub) like this for literally years.

Every chance he gets he either squanders or his body breaks down, it’s a shame but it’s best for everyone that he goes and tries to kickstart his career elsewhere.

He's off the back of a full season where he stayed injury free which more than any of our 4 current wingers can say.

Rodgers will see what he has to offer in pre season and make the decision from there.

If he’s as good as people say he is we should be able to get a few quid for him. Punt.

I disagree. For me he’ll already be on the list of outgoings with Soro, Uroghide, Ajeti, Shaw and a few others.

We need much, much, better. Jota to MJ is a chasm of a gap in quality.
