Brendan Rodgers Discussion Thread

Might be nit-picking here but I would have liked to see Rodgers do a press conference at Celtic Park today when he was announced.
I know he’s going to be there on Friday but today seemed like the logical time to me for it. Keen to hear him answer some questions.

 

What I don't understand is 1. Do the GB all speak with the one voice? 2. Do they actually share the same opinion on everything? Surely in any large group there's going to be a reasonable percentage of people who disagree? That goes for the support as a whole. From what I have read a lot of people have their reservations but are prepared to move forward with the hope that this pans out and BR continues where he left off. Truth be told most of us do understand why it's not going down too well with some but surely it's best for the team and the club if we try to find some middle ground. The MSM are having a field day as it is.

 

Yeah I think the timing has just been a bit unfortunate. He’s on holiday and ultimately when he starts working here he’ll be all go, so best to get the break in now.

I think they wanted to wait until the end of the week but clearly the speculation was getting a bit much so they needed to just go for it.

 

Gives him a chance to get some more words of wisdom from his old mate Danny.

Aye I don't get it at all, must be like a council meeting. Do they vote on what their opinion is going to be? They do a lot of good work and they're really important to the atmosphere in the stadium, but personally hope they just wrap it in regards to this, can't be arsed with the kind of division it creates.

 

Year left on his 2yr deal.

None more so than the Green Brigade themselves. Holding up a banner saying if we don’t back him we will lose him. Then when he decides to leave after not being backed, throw their toys out the pram and blame him for leaving. Embarrassing stuff.
