Rodgers will not be here for 5 years, can guarantee that. Might get 3 years out him this time.

All depends on the luck of the draw with europe. You could hit "easy" teams every round until the final, while the other side of the draw was the best of the best every round. I like how there seems to be noises about taking our advancement seriously for once.

As much as I like the enthusiasm and supposed ambition, I'd like to focus on us just maintaining that domestic dominance with him again first.

We need to see how everything goes second time around before we plan world dominance.

The main concern I have is how he set us up in Europe mate. We can’t be as easy to play against as his first spell. However, if he returns, I think he is coming here with assurances that he will be given a good transfer budget. There was undoubtedly a total lack of ambition from the board when he was here. I don’t think we will see that this time.

In regards to his ego, I don’t think that’s a major issue. The biggest problem before was he was at loggerheads with someone with arguably an even bigger ego in Lawwell, who was also in control of our spend it appeared. That was always going to end in tears, no doubt about it. I don’t like the way Rodgers left, but I actually never really blamed him either, because I think he had reached the end the road due to Lawwell. His ambitions outweighed our boards. We need to hope they are singing from the same hymn sheet this time.

I get the want for looking further afield mate. Knutsen would have absolutely been my first choice. I think he would have been a good fit here as well. Although, what I would say, I think we might then have seen our board showing that same lack of ambition in the transfer market as Knutsen is currently working on a shoestring budget.

We both agree Rodgers is a very good coach. In fact, I think pretty much every Celtic fan would agree with that. We have got a very good team at the moment, Rodgers may well just be the man to take us further, because improving players is something he is very good at. We have good players, if he can make them better, whilst adding a few more bits of quality, we might even be in better hands than we were with Ange. I’m very excited about the prospect of Rodgers returning mate.

Targets like European final are a bit arbitrary. You can get an exceptionally difficult draw, a poor decision against you etc. Re-establishing ourselves as a European force in the sense of Celtic Park being a venue sides fear coming to, is a more attainable goal. You may get a European final regardless.

However, Rodgers isn’t coming here for ‘more of the same.’ It’s very obvious that he’ll have been given certain assurances that he’ll be backed, and that the board share his ambitions.

I think too much is made of Rodgers apparently being incapable of setting up for Europe, particularly given he guided Leicester to a European semi-final.

The 0-5 loss against PSG, which is always used against him, seen us line-up with three full backs in a four-man defence.

That’s down to the awful recruitment we had after his first season, where target after target was missed out on.

I have memories of us very much giving the likes of Manchester City and Bayern a game. Far more of a game than we did Real Madrid at home, which folk like to crow on about.

I think the key thing for us is an overall improvement in Europe, want us to be more savvy and not gullible as if we're overawed at the occasion, want us to show that we belong amongst the elite teams.

As much as our League dosen't help, we cannot use this as an excuse, don't really care about the actual number of wins as such, just want to be competitive not the whipping boys or seen as an easy opponent.

As much as the domestic game will always be our bread and butter, Europe has to be at the top of our ambition list.

Continued domestic domination, league the priority obvious and with a bit of luck....a third place finish in the groups..

A run or treble or anything like that is just a massive bonus the above..

I'd take the league and a third place finish if it meant we didn't win the 2 domestic cups this year..

What's his own selfish reason for coming back? Cause no one else will have him?

He's doing it first and foremost for himself and I'm sure there's a sinister reason behind it.

Happy to have him but we really need to get a foothold in Europe. Trebles are nothing special when embarrassing ourselves in Europe. We need to be making CL last 16

Was in having some eats in the west end and 2 people suited and booted , don't know who they were, seemed to be talking re Rodgers taking the job saying there was a stumbling block regarding the Contract. I don't know if true or otherwise as we were just leaving the place.

Rodgers could still get a gig at a Fulham/Crystal Palace if they got rid of their managers, easily.

Maybe sacrilege to say this but I do think he wants to repair his legacy here. He has balls coming back tbh, could easily take a year out and get another good job.

Also a treble is always a special occasion, we need to improve in Europe 100% but there's no reason to downplay a Treble.

Needs to learn to set up a defence.

Am I happy about the appointment? Not really. But it can't be denied that he is a good coach and improve players. If he can do with abada as he did with forrest and develop our other promising talents amazing

I don't get the 'he improves players' stuff. He definitely doesn't improve teams. We went from 106 pts in his first season to 82 in his 2nd (only 5 more than under Lennon when we lost the ten). Liverpool went from just missing winning the EPL to 6th in his 2nd season and Leicester went from 5th to relegated under him in 3 years. Still gutted that he's coming back. Fear for us next season.
