:50: 26, heard them say on the radio.

    Typical Bazball start from England.

Umpire having a shocker. How’s he not calling that one just before lunch? Missed the LBW as well.

37 overs to get the first maiden, game’s different from when the likes of boycott played.

TMS commentary of the Brook dismissal sounded so bizarre.

Stokes gone. England now 5 down. So they are scoring rapidly, but Australia not letting them get away.

Really enjoyed that today. Forecast is more British next few days, rain about and some cloud. England need the ball to do something, it’s their only hope with the bowling they have imho.

Terrific days action there. Root with another ton. Daring declaration by Stokes just short of 400 gave that little awkward window for the Aussie openers to have to deal with, and gives Anderson & Broad two bites of the proverbial cherry.

Although you never can really say with certainty til both sides have batted, the pitch appears to be as flat as a pancake with little of the way of demons in it and some big scores to be had, so the Australian batsmen should be licking their lips at the prospect.

That’s why I said about the weather taz. Englands bowling isn’t exactly toothless, but unless they get swing and movement the aussies could bat all day tomorrow.

Smith just not timing it great at the minute. Really struggling to find runs.

:56: I know. Smith is someone who can bat all day as well, but it just wasn’t happening for him. Could see him getting frustrated.

Crucial that Green and Khawaja made it to tea there. Australia just chipping away at the runs. Game is right in the balance now.

Well poised right now. First inning lead for either side could be critical as the game goes on. Absolute featherbed of a pitch though, so spin going to be more and more important over the next few days.

    * way to end the day, even though it’s not officially called off yet. Don’t want the weather to spoil this but it may do now.
