And after his first season we fell off a cliff in terms of performance that's what worries me, aside from dropping points after the league was won this season we've been much more consistent under Ange over a longer period, scoring more goals and putting more points up the second year, based on his record here last time and at other jobs I just don't trust Rodgers to build like that. We might see some improvement to begin with because he's a good coach, and some of our current players might flourish under a slightly different system, but I have no faith in him longer term, and if he has a big say in our transfer business could leave us weaker than when he found us again.

I would much rather a fresh manager from another league that has proven they can use their budget well, we already outspend the rest of the league, Rodgers coming in being promised the biggest wage and transfer budget ever genuinely gives me the fear we're going to * a relative fortune up the wall. if Lawwell jr and Nicholson are still taking more control of that business then it's less of a concern, but would a guy of Rodgers ego really come back and accept less control than he had before?

Yes the manager of our club is vitally important and I just hope and pray that, whoever takes charge, is successful however, it's always been the team I support and I have supported the team when great men were in charge such as Stein and MON, good managers such as Tommy Burns, Jansen, Hay, Rodgers and eejits like Macari, Mowbray and Barnes. So, if it is Rodgers, then I'll learn to forgive him and back him - especially if he brings us continued success.

So are you telling me that the club is going to pay Rodgers between

    £153,846 - £192,307 a week.

    No * chance! Absolutely none.

    I'm conflicted really....

I think if Rodgers is mostly forced into just managing the squad to play football and doesn't really have a say about the ins and outs of the club then guys like Lawwell Jnr and Nicholson at least so far, seem to be showing signs that they can handle that side of the game and help the team grow.

That is why I'm conflicted as I struggle to see many managers, especially those with an ego and CV like Rodgers allowing someone else to dictate to him who get sold and bought into the club for him to use.

We definitely had a drop off in the last 6 months. No doubt about it. We weren’t pressing the game anywhere near the same level we did at the start of the season when we just suffocated teams. The intensity to our play had eased off as well I felt. We weren’t playing badly, but we had dipped I felt.

Can't believe what I'm reading on swamp swamp they reckon Beale is a better coach than Rodgers really?! Wasn't Beale a coach for Liverpool U-16 when Rodgers was first team manager? Aye ok!

They don't really believe that. They're terrified of Rodgers.

I felt we had a drop-off because we were still winning and maintaining a comfortable lead in 2nd gear... We only started dropping points once it was actually over and we dropped into 1st...

Hate to say it lads, but other than an initial bounce if a new coach or European challenge our game will always peter out as the players get bored... Only way around that would be genuine competition - still in Europe or a resurgence from the Huns. Both unlikely...

This is why I think we should be a revolving door of players.

Always fresh players looking to prove themselves. Let the bored ones move on.

The standard of the opposition is relevant. It's a great record no doubt but they were embarrassingly pish back then.

Apparently Chris Davies is definitely going to Spurs...so would indicate JK is staying. (Not ITK:92:)

Was this the game where Griffiths was chopped down and we were denied a stonewaller?
