60,000 will be standing to applaud him on his first league game, though.

I’d have thought there’s a far better chance he’d order it online than come up to the Argyle Street shop tbh.

BRENDAN RODGERS is holding fresh talks with Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond TODAY.

And the Hoops supremo is determined to finalise a deal and get it over the line.

SunSport revealed yesterday how Rodgers, 50, was on the verge of agreeing to a stunning return as Celtic manager.

He's emerged as the front-runner to succeed Ange Postecoglou, who departed for Tottenham just over a week ago.

Rodgers quit Celtic in February 2019 to join Leicester with many Hoops fans furious with the manner of his exit.

He looked set to take time out of football following his sacking by the Foxes in April but Hoops supremos are now confident he WILL accept the opportunity to make a dramatic return as boss.

It is Rodgers' job if he wants it.

Chief executive Michael Nicholson met Rodgers for face-to-face discussions in Spain on Saturday and talks between the manager and club have been continuing.

And SunSport can reveal that those discussions are continuing today in London.

Rodgers is meeting with Desmond in the capital and the chief is determined to finalise a deal.

Desmond, who is rarely seen in Scotland these days, was spotted jetting-in to Glasgow Airport on his private jet yesterday as Rodgers' incredible return gathered more and more pace.

Despite his intentions to take a sabbatical from football, Rodgers became the focus of Celtic's attention towards the end of last week.

Rodgers, who was previously the biggest-earning boss in Celtic history, has been guaranteed a bumper contract at Parkhead as well as major transfer resources as he looks to build on his previous success at the club.

He led Celtic to back-to-back trebles, and they were on course for a third - which they did go on to win under successor Neil Lennon - at the time of his exit.

He has also been assured that the majority of Celtic fans will be receptive to his return, despite many still being angered by the way he left the club four years ago.

I’ll probably come on the next morning to you and your cronies demanding to know why I wasn’t posting ‘booooo’ on here with you as the teams came out.

Ps. Check the original Rodgers thread - I’ve always known he’s a Celtic man, even when the plastics flooded the online sphere with drivel about him.

So what will have changed from then to now...

He talks about investment to progress in Europe.... that won't be any different to now.

Yeah, maybe because Nicholson and Lawwell Jnr are here, the squad is bolstered by a net spend of £20 million but will that get us last 16 of champions league? Will it even be enough to get us deeper into europa?

It is doubtful, yes the huns scum reached a final in recent years, but then Leicester also won the EPL... look where they are now...* relegated.

I don't see how, even if he sees more money being spent on the squad how that offers him any guarantees we progress in Europe.... especially when you see the clubs reaching finals now and what they spend with the likes of Man City and West ham, then the resurgence of Italian club football clubs reaching each European final.

I don't see what is worth listening to there?

I'd be willing to bet the place would be packed out... There'd be the Rodgers lovers (never thought he was in the wrong), the Celtic lovers (once he's in the job he's ours, no matter what - this would be me, by the way) and then just the people who would love the attention and to be along in the crowd...

Edit: oh, and if he is a prime factor in a new 'european standard' wage/recruitment policy he'll be welcomed back by even most of his haters, I should think
