Rodgers has been on the cards for months. Why else would he have been up buying a house a few months ago? Makes sense now.

It's mad that every year there's still chunks of our fans (and theirs) claiming the fixtures are rigged.

He has houses all over, came out years ago when he got divorced and working out a settlement he owned about 100 properties, so that wasn't anything to read into really.

Brendan Rodgers is set to bring two trusted members of staff with him to Celtic should he seal a return to Parkhead.

Jack Lyons was picked up by Rodgers from his tactical blog during his first spell at the Hoops, as he brought web guru in-house and appointed him opposition scout and took him to Leicester.

According to The Sun he will rejoin the club, while Rodgers is also looking to bring Glen Driscoll back as head of performance.

If so it would suggest that the board looked at Ange's history of * over his current club and were putting contingency plans in place even as he continued to lead us on. In other words we done our due diligence like the well run club we are.

If also want to be emulating those types of clubs and spending those types of fees... we need a whole makeover of the Scottish game entirely.

Unless by some miracle we go on to win 5 UCL titles in a row, no matter who sell or how much we dominant domestically. We will never be in a position where we can spend £30 million on a single player as well as, probably pay £15-£20 mill in wages spread over 5 year contract just as an example... we just don't live in a league where we can ever sustain such spending

I don't think it's quite that all or nothing, though I take your point. We should be able to expand our resources gradually if operating correctly. Historically we haven't done this whereby we've sold our best assets at the peak of their value and reinvested. If we were to do this consistently over 10-20 years in the way the teams mentioned do (Ajax, Porto, Benfica) then we probably would have resources enough to be paying at least £20m+ on the odd player and big wages.

Of course, you would hope that this investment would also lead to consistent UCL participation and maybe even relative success (last 16 for example), which would further increase our resources.

It's a gradual increase but one we can only hope to do if we stick to the trading model consistently.

That's fanciful thinking I reckon. Look at DD and PL's faces after the cup final. Didn't look like men who had any contingencies whatsoever.

So, the matter of the next manager is far from settled. We haven't arranged everything with Rodgers.

So it's going to be Rodgers again.
    Can't say I'm pleased.

    It's deffo done..

The same KDS poster who's been well ahead of the press said that Anthony Joseph was about 3 days behind and also was first again to reveal about 2 backroom staff coming up with him. Then 2 names come out today..

    It's clearly him..

Im sure people know the setup … re. Hun games and H/A count..

…. But the cynic in me will be interested to see the schedule up until October and especially the first 6 games or so…

I wouldn’t be surprised if we face all the top half teams (mainly away) while a certain other Klub plays the dross at home.

It looked like two men who had been screwed over and lied to. That's going to burn no matter what contingency plans Nicholson and Lawwell Jr had in place.

These are very rich men with big egos.

Fact is if things pan out the way they are looking to atm then Celtic could very well be in a stronger place than we would have been had Ange stayed on. That's not happened by accident.

Will there be 30,000 turning up at CP to welcome him?
