Yeah bring the * back so he can raise his share price a little then he'll * off again faster than you can say "EPL, yes please".

Our defence is still a bit shaky, maybe big Efe could be coaxed into giving up the scenic Clyde coast to come back too.

But that’s my point: that chain of events actually started prior to Rodgers leaving. It was PL ripping him (and us) off that started the gradual downgrade in standards. Board complacency and PL’s usual penny-pinching.

    Aye, let’s! :50:

ITK latest ; Assurances have been made to him that we are going to go the next level in the transfer market, Europe is the measuring stick of where we are and DD will loosen the purse strings to start making a mark there under BR .

Hopefully a big summer of spending ahead. Brendan must feel he can achieve alot here now ; serious funds to add to an already very good, young , winning squad.

Seems to be the general rumour aye.

The question is what is the definition of big spending. Even £50m might not even help us make a dent. I'd still take it though :giggle1:

Haha well we will see. Couple of big signings in key positions would be nice. Don't want a repeat of missing out on Mcginn , Castagne. Maybe Rodgers will get his key targets as oppose to back ups for the sake of saving a few million.

Just saying in the other thread a poster who seems to be bang on the money has said we'll be breaking our highest ever transfer signing, at least once and 7 or 8 in..

No sure how he'd know quite all that but I'm going with it anyway :ange2:

If we bring in 7 or 8 at big fees he will be punting some of Ange's favourites. Almost certain he won't want Maeda.

    I don't think we'll bring in 7 or 8 at big fees. Maybe a good 4 or 5 though..

Agreed on Maeda. Think he'll end up a squad option at best..

Yup according to McGowan’s article, Rodgers is coming back with the aim of making us a force in Europe and has been told he will be given the money to have a good crack at it.

GK, LB, CDM, CAM, RW priority positions for me.

A winger and a LB are a certainty. GK probably , and replace any outgoings.

If he comes in and makes 3-4 big exciting signings all this bad feeling will soon be forgotten. I've still got reservations and my feelings about him as a man won't change, but I'm starting to get on board the train - especially if all these rumours of the assurances and ambition are true.

im hoping that rodgers ,if he gets the job actually has a look at what has worked well the past two years and not change too much .the way we played this season had reminded me a lot more of rodgers style with the ball going backwards and sideways moreso than anges first season ,even things like like quick tempo should be kept ,the way the subs are used even the way gg and juranovic were sold and replaced without any drama . im expecting a very smooth transition as there was a lot of good * happening here that needs built upon

Here is a list of his signings and what I think about them , not as bad as many say and just unfortunate it never worked out

Dembele - very good , had apparently already signed

Ajer - very good , had already signed

    Sinclair - very good

Gamboa - was a decent player but listing was always going to be starter

Toure - brought experience and was decent enough

Devries - just didn’t work out , was player of the year at previous club I’m sure

Kouassi - was highly rated and it just never worked out , genk obv seen something too

Ntcham - good player but should have did more if it wasnt for his attitude

Musonda - was a coup when we signed him but something was off in background I feel with him

Hendry - type of player that can have an amazing game then an absolute howler, just didn’t work out with us

    Hayes - decent squad player

Compper - hard to judge but came with a good rep so something in background not right

Morgan - average , was signed to stop Huns getting him I think on the back of a good season

Benyu - came highly sought and looked decent in pre season but just didn’t work out

Roberts - good signing first time round

Edouard - good signing but again attitude was a bit off

    Bain- still here

Bayo - there was obviously a player there since he’s had a good few moves but just not Celtic quality

Shved- never really given a chance

Izaguirre - shouldn’t have came back second time

    Mulumbu - panic buy

    Gutman - pointless signing

    Perez - pointless signing

Benkovic - looked good and should have been bought if there was a chance

Burke - average , never rated him

Weah - decent , looked good in spells

Toljan - flop , just never worked out

    Arzani - flop

There's a whitewash going on at the moment. By the end of the week he'll have made no bad signings. Only players who did not perform to the standards Brendan set.

Said in the other thread but I find it hard to say they were all "his" signings.

I doubt he identified Gutman and Perez from what, 2nd tier American football or college football? And thought yes that's the boys for me.

That reeks of a marketing ploy by Lawwell.

Possibly , but there’s a few signings in there that it’s hard to judge due to the fact they never played much or at all ,

although of the loan players the only ones I would have maybe signed are Roberts and possibly weah a hope we continue to add purchase deals into the loans

I'll neither support him nor believe a word he utters, as he deserves no respect at all.

Do you think someone who has demeaned Danny McGrain and who also walked out on us deserves support ?
