Doesn't matter much what we want tbh. If it's him it's him. One thing I know for sure is I will absolutely not applaud the appointment. I will not applaud him when/if his name is called out after the team line up at matchdays. The way he left will never be forgotten. He will almost certainly do it again.

More importantly, how would our Captain feel about it, the players must have felt pretty let down with the way he exited.. or maybe they understand that that's football more than the average fan..

I guess, only McGregor, Forrest, Ralston, Bain and Welsh would have been around during his tenure..

    Was Welsh even really around?

I think Forrest and McGregor will be fine with it. He tried to take McGregor to Leicester with him and Cal has spoke highly of him since he left.

You could balance that by saying he was sacked by Liverpool after 2 seasons and then sacked by Leicester after putting them in relegation trouble. He won the play-offs with Swansea so they finished 3rd to 6th in the league - ok but nothing special and most teams who get promoted to the EPL do ok for a couple of seasons so again finishing 11th ok but nothing special . The teams he takes over usually get worse the longer he's been there including us. My view of him is maybe coloured by the fact I don't like him, I'm not convinced he would be successful if he came back (especially in Europe), he's still our only manager to walk out mid-season, I didn't like the football we were playing in the last couple of years here and his transfer record was terrible.

I worry about his authority in coming back. Especially with Mcgregor.

Will be disappointed if this doesn't happen now to be honest.

It's this simple love or hate ....if he becomes manager we need to get behind him 1000 , reason being to break a strong club mentality it has to fail from the inside out and that is the issue we can't show any weak spot here it's unity or failure with this .

They won’t give a flying * I doubt. It’s part of being a footballer. Managers come and go. Bar Welsh they’ve all had a good few managers now they will just get on with business as usual.

I wonder if people are as willing to see Kyogo and Jota to leave as they are our managers. Do we just accept anybody decent we have goes after 2 or 3 years

McGregor was asked his thoughts prior to Rodgers being interviewed.

Looks like its a done deal....What i dont want now is players throwing the dummy out the pram and doing an Édouard here.

    We set the tone here.

We play as a team whether you like someone or not.

We support the club not the manager! Get behind the team whoever is in the dugout!

As much as I love Broonie, having him back as an assistant makes no sense for him. If he wants to one day be Celtic manager he needs to get managerial experience and make Fleetwood, and another team, successful. Him coming back to be assistant is almost like admitting he's not ready to be a manager yet.

If we're going down the ex-player as assistant route someone like Maloney would make more sense, personally I'd like to see Nakamura get the gig, but you'd imagine Rodgers will want to bring his mates back anyway.
