Who could we replace Ange with?

I don't really care who the manager is once we are enjoyable to watch, our players are developed and we are still league champions this time next year. Rodgers puts us in a great position to achieve that

I’m glad some people have that level of optimism, Rodgers ego will be the biggest hurdle though. Rodgers is a 2 year manager, every club he has managed at he loses the ability to keep motivating the players, that was the bigger issue we had.

I agree the squad is definitely far superior to the one he took over first time round but we all know there still is plenty room for improvement. Hopefully we keep going into the East Asian market, the good thing with Lawwell jr is he has a lot of reach & contacts.

 

100 percent agree. Most important thing is we keep winning. I'd love someone to come in and stay with us forever and have the kind of relationship with the fans that Ange had, but that kind of thing doesn't happen now unfortunately. If Rodgers comes back in I think we maintain our domestic success and hopefully improve in Europe. Don't think that's as probable if we bring in an unknown quantity.

Totally! We would be getting that from most of good/talented managers. Two, max three seasons. And if he wins the league each time, he can go to wherever his ego guides him.

is he a lazy appointment? Yes! But is he a smart appointment? Defo! He is no Lennon returning. Both he and the club would have hopefully learned from the past and set us up for more succes.

 

Even the staunchest of Rodgers' followers would admit this appointment is so short sighted.

A couple of weeks ago we all wanted a manager who would be here long term and build a legacy. We thought Ange would be that man, sadly he wasn't.

Now all of a sudden fans are getting giddy over a guy who has demonstrated to have a two year shelf life at best before it turns to *. This has been proven time and time again throughout his career.

This is an appointment that lacks foresight. We're basically admitting "* the long term vision, let's just get a guy in who can win the league against the mighty Ranjurz".

A guy that snuck out through the back door and created a toxic atmosphere that lasted for years, no less.

 

Must be getting a decent budget too..

That’s life unfortunately. Our position on the food chain dictates that the likelihood of any player or manager coming in and doing well and staying longer than 2 maybe 3 seasons at a push is slim to none.

This is a safe bet Rodgers is a good manager and makes players better. He has his good points and bad if he signs and we win 9 outta 9 as we were on course to it was worth it. The bad is how he left but if he's back we will need to support him
