Postecoglou has just done the same in regards to working his ticket whilst declaring his feelings for the club. I think the sooner we realise that no matter who is in charge will most likely be doing the same, the better.

Rodgers is a * but a * who will continue to deliver us success and if he does so then people will get behind him, Gallardo and Knutsen are my top 2 but Rodgers after both of them is the best option and far better than Maresca who we are led to believe is the next candidate after him.

Part of me wonders whether Maresca is sort of a bluff to make us happier about whoever the board actually want. That said, maybe that's just wishful thinking. I'm really not sold on the idea of an unproven manager. I'd honestly take Brown over Maresca, as far as unproven goes at least he's one of ours.

With regard to how things went south last time Rodgers was here, lack of backing/relationship breakdown/poor recruitment etc, these are things you have to assume will be sorted out prior to him signing again.

Concessions will probably have to be made on both sides, mainly that Rodgers will have to accept that we have our own scouting and recruitment setup now, so he won't be allowed to just bring in whoever he wants.

There's also the fact that he'd be working with Nicholson thus time round, rather than Lawwell, so they'd be free to build a relationship without the risk of past grievances getting in the way.

All this to say mistakes have been made but also lessons learned, on both sides. If he is the man to take us forward I'd be confident that all parties would have a fresh start.

Am not as fussed about the last line as everyone's the same in all walks of life, everyone is after more money for themselves and family.

The rest of it is bang on though.

I don't think that Rodgers was the main problem with the transfers. He even spoke out about not even knowing who Shved (?) was. I think that this was one big part of the issue, that our scouting was so poor back then, but it's very different now with a fantastic scouting network. I think its a 50/50 split more or less. He wanted more control over transfers, as the scouts could not find a half decent player. He did not get that control and threw his toys our the pram.

Ange signed the Japanese players. The scouts found CCV, Jota, Starfelt, Haksa etc etc.

I dont even think Rodgers want to come back as he will have lots of offers. But the * would bring success.

Rodgers would inherit twice the team he managed last time here. The only problem is that his tactics rely on a different type of wingers IMO.

Betting suspended for Rodgers on Skybet.

I know this means nothing but it's all I've got because I don't have any ITK WhatsApp or twitter info or know any tradesmen close to candidates or anyone on the payroll inside Celtic Park.

BR or bust! Him or Knutsen are leading candidates to take us up a level. I'm happy for the younger coaches to come in as protégés, assistants to BR and eventually lead over time.

If Rodgers does come back then surely to * that means he's had assurances on a budget for players? Basically the reason he left last time

Here's a question to the BR doubters....would you take Ange back in 3 years if he got sacked by spurs?

Leaning towards yes by around 65% but i generally don't like retreading old ground and prefer to move forward with a fresh face (partly reinforced by Lennon PTSD...).

Maybe but right now no because by then he'll be out of touch with Japanese players, and would have been concentrating in a market we cannot afford. You could see as time moved on his signings got worse as he was not in japan witnessing players first hand anymore.

If it’s maresca then the Lawells have won control of the club they want an option that won’t cost too much money

I'm really surprised Andoni Iraola isn't higher on the priority list to be honest.

Turned a Rayo Vallecano team who are normally in a relegation scrap into a solid, midtable La Liga side.

Seems to be an exciting upcoming manager who is attracting some attention and appears to have made it pretty public he'd be interested.

I'm surprised the reports overnight say we've had talks with someone like Francesco Farioli and not Iraola.
