That's a weird way of looking at it. I think it's pretty impressive tbh. He also had them one game away from a European final and won the FA cup. By whatever measure that's a successful stint. Anyway I'm not convinced on Rodgers either but there's no point in hiding from the fact he's a very good manager.

I think Rodger’s is the one name that would be attainable to us that would have their backs up , all others mentioned albeit good names they will think they will need time to get their views across !

Rodger’s signs again then they will panic from the get go

It may be his speciality, but it'd remain to be seen whether the current crop could get much better at playing out from the back or whether they've hit their ceiling.

It was just a friendly, but I remember when Yokohama played City, Raheem Sterling said after the match that they were one of the best teams he'd ever seen playing out from the back. That, in addition to Brisbane Roar and Australian national teams I've seen under Ange lead me to believe that any struggles we had were less to do with his coaching and more to do with the limitations of certain players, for instance Hart, Starfelt and Ralston.

Not sure giving BR autonomy over transfers is particularly wise.

Yeah surely McKays only role in this whole process is drawing up contracts.

If its gone that far then it's gonna be him

That's inevitable mate, we've got three potential outcomes from this next manager
    1) He improves on what Ange has done and builds up loads of interest - he leaves after two years
    2) We fall back a bit in performance from Ange's team but continue to win the league and continue to dominate - he leaves in three years
    3) We lose the League - He leaves after one.

We can't really expect loyalty from anyone who isn't mediocre, it's the nature of the beast we're in.

I think there's at least another week before an announcement though

FYI wasn’t claiming to be ITK but it definitely did take place on the weekend. Do you think McGowan trawls all the pages on this forum for his stories.

True. The new scouting set up seems to be showing marked improvement. That allied with Rodgers coaching abilities. Could do alot worse.

Nah, I've said I don't want Rodgers but Leicester were good under him for a while. Should have made 4th place but they were a good team and winning the cup was an excellent achievement.

I think if we hadn’t got Lennon in after Rodger’s left and we had got a good manager in then a lot of the negativity would have been away sooner but we all knew what was going to happen when he came “temporarily”

You think Carter Vickers, Starfelt, Jota, Abada, Oreilly, Juranovic Giakoumakis, Hart and Alistair Johnston were all players known by Ange?

I don't see it mate. Finishing 5th in the Premier League twice in a row may look impressive, but as I've said they were a shoe-in for 4th and bottled it both times. Most Leicester fans will tell you the same.

I'll give him credit for the FA Cup win, but not for reaching the Europa Conference League Semi Final. Leicester's budget would've dwarfed everyone else's in that competition by a mile. On the way to the Semi Final they beat Randers, Rennes and PSV, again, all teams they should be beating. Hardly world beaters.

And that's without mentioning the fact that they played in the Conference League because they got knocked out by Napoli and Spartak Moscow in the EL Group Stage.

In 2016/17, Leicester won their Champions League group and beat Sevilla in the Last 16 to get to the 1/4 final before narrowly losing against Atletico 2-1 on aggregate. That was with Ranieri and then Craig Shakespeare at the helm ffs. A far better achievement than reaching the ECL Semi last year.

For a variety of reasons Rodgers would be a grim appointment, I'm shocked not more realise this.

I highly doubt all of the successful signings were single handedly identified by Postecoglou. That just doesn't happen.

Time will tell. There's nothing to suggest any other manager would do well either with transfers so I'd rather the risk with Rodgers who I know to be an excellent manager, rather than risk both an unknown manager and his ability with transfers.

It's all a lottery, end of the day.

I think Ange knows how to identify a * good player when he sees one and knows what he wants from them. From their ability, to their character traits and personality, Ange proved his worth.

Then you look at Rodgers' signings throughout his entire managerial career and the complete opposite is true. We can't just blame the previous transfer committees and Liverpool, Leicester at Celtic for all his failings.

The buck stops with Rodgers at the end of the day and there is a blatant correlation that shouldn't be ignored.

There’s some impressive mental gymnastics going on in this thread to downplay the achievements of a talented manager. Leicester are a small club who built themselves up and tried to sustain it, but ultimately failed due to dwindling investment and over reliance on an ageing Vardy. Them winning anything is a huge accomplishment relative to their history.

I’m not a fan of him at all based on how he left but from a purely managerial perspective, he’d be a good appointment.

If he is the new manager, I highly doubt desmond is going to give him the keys to the kingdom like last time so there won’t be any gutting of the scouting team and no congerton, so when it comes to it the scouting team will be the ones identifying most of our signings under Rodgers.
Going by the names I listed above I’d say they’ve done a good job of it since the restructure 2 summers ago

The guy literally won every domestic trophy he could over 2.5 years. Qualified for the CL twice after 3 qualifiers both years. Got us European football post Christmas twice. Put 5 past the Huns on 3 (three) occasions including a game in which we won the league & another at Ibrox. The man responsible for the reduced allocation.

Will back him like I said give him a 3 year deal but build the infrastructure around him for succession planning

Had a quick swatch on follow follow 1 was proper moaning that they "can't catch a break".

I have my reservations about him after how it all ended but he's probably a better coach now than when he left and make no mistake about it it will be an absolute * hammer blow to they * just as they are stating to crawl out from under their rocks and get all excited by their free signings
