But does that not mean we have to be successful as a club for other clubs to want our managers?

As much as we are a huge club, we are a stepping stone for managers and players.

If we can get 2-3 good years out of them then great. We just need the right people behind the scenes to make sure we are prepared for change when it arises.

1million % he's interested. My cousin is with his nephew over 25 years. Last time he signed for us Brendan phoned home told them day before it. See my posts on here the day before he signed the last time because everyone we knew was banging money on it in bookies because we knew it was a done deal although I didn't have an online account to get it on myself and was working. I was even going to stick 2k on it but took to long to set up an online account. Same as today, my cousin phones me tells me definitely contact been made and he's very much interested in it. Take what yous want from it but that's what I've been told earlier and yesterday.

Spot on, that's the reality for us, it's how we benefit that matters.

I think it's unrealistic especially in todays game to hope to have a long term manager.

So you'd rather we got a manager that nobody is ever interested in taking from us?

May as well get Lennon back in that case.

Can’t wait to see folk tie themselves in knots kidding on their slating of Rodgers was just a joke and they always knew Lawwell was the problem.

Roll on winning every single domestic trophy every year again.

    Exactly.

If we hired Iraola, Farioli, Potter etc do people really think they'd turn down spurs after 2 seasons in charge?

If anything they'd bail for even far lesser jobs.

Our fans need to try and avoid getting too attached. Sadly its modern football.

Yeah it does and it's to be expected. I reckon with BR though, he'd have aspirations to get back down south ASAP and not really focus on getting a proper structure in place behind the scenes.

Where as an upcoming manager will need more than his his name to step up away from us. He need to prove himself in Europe, win trophies, bring a few youths through and progress a couple of 1st teamers.

See alot of talk about his side to side football but got to remember that there will have been alot of learning done in the 6/7 years since he joined us. He was 10 years younger than Ange was when he took the job and it's probably fair to say we would be getting back a better more experienced manager this time around. An FA Cup, European semi final and Leicester's best back to back finishes in the EPL. There is no doubting his credentials as a manger.

    * I'm starting to convince myself now.

I'm not even sure if he did get it how the Board could sell him to us, the guy has very limited managerial experience, not what you want for a Celtic manager going into the CL.

One thing rodgers would have form for is bringing players already at the club significantly on..he'd have a hat load of players to work with in that regard.

Rodgers is the conservative safe option. Part of me though wouldnt mind rolling the dice and giving it to a new upcoming manager.. and ye maresca mad farioli would be in that bracket

Brendan Rodgers bought 33 players for £296,550,000... Only 6 were 'successful', and that was me being generous with Can and Origi.

Its worse than I thought, way * worse :99:

If Rodgers is the next manager, then you can guarantee he has been given strong assurances around transfer budget etc.

He wouldn’t come back if he didn’t feel he had the opportunity to be successful in Europe… as that’s really where he has unfinished business with us.

Edit: how he spends the money is crucial. And that’s my only concern with him.

A nice wee redemption arc this could be for rodgers if he comes back and continues the success for a couple seasons then leaves on a high note with the best wishes of the fans.
