At least we're talking about a different coach this time, tomorrow we'll be back to Maresca and Tuesday it'll be Jim Goodwin.

I’m wanting Knutsen as my first choice. But if not him the best coach on paper is Rodgers after that of the constantly linked names.

he improved so much of the team the first time he came in with his coaching all the players went up a considerable level or 2 under him. He doesn’t need to be long term if we got 2 good seasons out of him and had a succession plan I’d take that.

keep the position of strength and money for qualifying for Europe get the structures in place over the 2 years or so then if he wants to move we’ve got a clear succession plan.

Rodgers would be better than Knutsen but either would be preferable to Maresca.

If we can't attract a better level of manager than a guy who only lasted 14 games in Serie B, despite us being in one of the best positions in our modern history, then that is either a damning indictment of our board or a worrying sign of where we actually are as a club. Perhaps both.

Willing to bet the vast majority of the good signings youve listed bar the Asian ones were down to scouting department.

We have a head of recruitment now and given his surname, you can bet ur * he's not getting punted so you can stop throwing congertons name into it... He's not coming.

If it's Rodgers we lose the league next year.

Pretty sure the Boyata offer came after the fat accountant * up the mcginn deal and by which point the relationship between board and manager was *.

Knocking back that kind of money was stupid but given what had gone on that month I don't think Rodgers trusted them to get a replacement in

Don't want him either, but the league would be the minimum he would achieve.

We need invincible seasonesque form if not we will lose the league. He won't be up against Pedro or Murtys diddys this time. Passing the baw to death when we are drawing 0-0 to St Johnstone at home in the 90th isn't going to cut it either. Hope he learns how to win at Easter Road and the Tony Macaroni stadium too

Nice bit of flip flopping there..

So highlighting signings like Bernabei from Argentina one minute as Ange's poor buys....then saying his good ones bar the Asian lads were down to the scouting department. Lol..

Rodgers would be taking over a squad that's better than anything he had when he was here previously.

He'd have a fairly significant amount to spend to strengthen that squad too, more than he ever received before.

I think the problems with recruitment were more down to our lack of organisation in that area, not down to the manager. Ultimately, we should be giving Rodgers various options and working in tandem to bring them in. I think we're in a better place in that department now and would likely be able to aim for better targets.

Ideguchi was definitely an Ange signing and not a good one (no harm to the lad)

He 100% would have seen as how we know he was involved in the "process" of finding a new Spurs manager from the start. Meaning he applied for it in March and he wouldn't have known it would have dragged on so long.

O'Reily was presented to Ange by our scouting team after Ange's choice McGree knocked us back. Celtic had been tracking Matt for a while.

Question is whose choice will it be, DD, PL or the money men ?

Who was it that came up with Ange, do we know ?

Certainly won't be DD, I'd be shocked if he had even heard of Ange's name.

    It came from Mark Lawwell:

“He first came to my attention via my son Mark, who said guy called Ange Postecoglou is manager of Yokohama. This guy’s the real deal. That got my interest,” Lawwell said

Outwith lining his pockets BR has no incentive to come back here. The old frictions would raise their head before long. He's already achieved as much as he could here. Would be shocked if he wanted to come back and shocked if we were after him.
