I actually forgot about all the short sighted loans we had under Rodgers (and Deila and Lennon tbf). Seems like we never had options to buy.

For the most part we had no competition while Ronny and Rodgers were at the club. The board basically were not willing to spend a penny more than they absolutely had to.

Treated Ronny like the puppet they wanted and ultimately * Rodgers about until he got fed up and left

Thanks @Seán Mac D and @McChiellini.. for summing up better why i don't want the rat anywhere near our club again.

Will genuinely be so deflated if it's him we lump for. I reckon he'd flop second time around anyway, I don't buy this guaranteed success thing.

Big BR back and a year or two down the line, we would need another Ange type manager to sort out the mess he left behind.

Add to the fact he's a bit of a *.

Hopefully Ange left his list of signing targets behind.

Mark Lawwell is head of recruitment. Him and Ange would have identified a number of targets.

I'd be * terrified of giving Rodgers any money to spend. His transfer record across 4 clubs is absolutely abysmal. He'd * the money up the wall.

    Look elsewhere Celtic.

I’m taking him over Maresca any day of the week this notion of all Anges recruitment was good isn’t the case.

    Kobayashi
looks weak and not upto Scottish football yet Bernabei hasn’t really delivered Abilgaard was a disaster McCarthy hardly been seen Uroghide Not good enough. Iwata jury is still out Sigrest Hardly seen.

Every manager has good and bad signings it’s impossible to get them all right.

why do you think he’ll flop based on what? He’s got a decent record anywhere he’s been so not sure how you say he will flop based on what?

Huns fear him he improves players and if he is working with a different head of recruitment why wouldn’t it be better

has it been any different the past 2 seasons ? i havent looked but im pretty sure we have made profit on players out to in .spotting a player was ange's top attribute in my opinion and scooping up the japanese bhoys for the fees we did added a crazy amount of talent to the squad

Rodgers would be off again the second he gets an offer from an English Premier league side. He did really well for us but both Celtic and he have moved on.

A few days ago Rodgers wasn’t getting it now all of a sudden it’s him. No one has a clue and they are all guessing.

Rodgers isn’t a long term appointment and will 100% cause more friction between fans and the board. There’s better and more exciting options available, we have a chance to build something special.

Aye I think a lot of people are overlooking much of Rodgers' time here. The domestic record was obviously incredible, in regards to silverware. But after that first season, the standard of football started to decrease and the signings were mostly terrible.

In the 2017/18 season we drew 7 league games at Celtic Park. We had five 0-0 draws in the league. Lost against Hibs, Aberdeen, Killie and Hearts.

And in the season he left us, we'd already lost 4 and drawn 3 pre winter break.

Saying he would guarantee us the league is a bit of an exaggeration. He'd be up against a huns team that won't be losing on a regular basis.

I think by now we should know that no matter who is in charge, if it’s enough money, they will go anyway.

Tielemans, Castange, Justin, Bertrand, Faes, Pereira, Soumare, Daka. A lot of his recruitment at Leicester wasn’t that bad wouldn’t have finished 5th twice on the spin if that’s the case. Brought through a few young players aswell. He had a different head of recruitment working with him at Leicester.

So with the right recruitment he can coach them all really well

He clearly didn't come over and go for McCarthy. Same with Siegrist..

We were down to bare bones and those were free transfers..

Abildgaard showed up well on the analytic graphs and we'd tried all window for Souza. He'd played no football and it didn't work..

Kobayashi was a cheap punt with potential. No biggy..

He didn't sign Urhoghide either we already had him on a pre contract with Shaw..

Bernabei for the outlay is the poorest one but his strike rates been good. Iwata will get more chances next season..

They were all players who came in Under Ange can’t say this or that it’s the facts not all of the recruitment was good. No manager has a 100 percent hit rate is the point.

So you’re telling me if Ange had been offered the Spurs job when conte left and got told he wouldn’t get it in the summer had to be March he wouldn’t have jumped ship.

I’m sure he would of done the same as Rodgers

Kobayashi - agreed on this, don't see a player

Bernabei - has talent but short, weak and not switched on defensively

Abildgaard - was a cheap loan to buy that didn't.work

McCarthy - Very clearly not Ange's signing

Urgohide - Was signed well before Ange was in the building, same with Shaw

Iwata - There's a player there and for £800k he'll more than prove value

Seigrist - Good keeper and would arguably have been #1 at the end of the season if he hadn't.got on the wrong side of Ange in Australia

You've conveniently left out all of Ange's hits - Kyogo, Jota, Hatate, Johnston, GG, JJ, Mooy, O'Riley, Maeda, Haksa etc.

If you think Rodgers and Congerton could find anywhere near the quality in proportion to the outlay for those then you're on a different planet.

The wheels were already in motion for Dembele to come to Celtic before BR arrived and he already knew Sinclair from Swansea. What players from his last clubs can he call upon this time round?

I think he's too good a coach to completely flop it tbf but I can't really see how he'll progress the club to take us to the next level. We are in a great place to move forward and really see how far we can push on...just feel that opportunity would be wasted on Rodgers just because he's the safest bet to keep us ticking along domestically.
