    That's EXACTLY my point mate!

Nobody has a scooby what he actually does! We keep hearing how the players love him, but do any of them actually credit him with anything?

For example, Collins; VVD credited him with all the extra work they put in together one one one, and it's well established that he's very focused on player conditioning, evident in Deilas first season in charge.

Contrast that with the most recent "praise" Kennedy gets. Ajer, in what sounded more like a dig at Lennon than anything called him "the most important person at Celtic". Postecoglou claiming that he thanked him for "backing his methods". Or Calmac, saying what he does "goes under the radar"... Which is what a movie director says about the * key grip when collecting an award... Which is exactly what Ange was doing at the time.

I started this thread in a rage, considering the axe had fallen on Deila and Collins, both slaughtered for the standard of football we were producing. But Kennedy was escaping any criticism whatsoever.
I'd like to think that rage has subsided a bit lol.

But I still can't find a single instance were Kennedy has been praised for a key feature of his coaching, and that praise can be seen, evident either on the pitch, or with a players development.

When he was given the caretaker role he was all * and wind.
Claiming we were the best side in the country sitting 20,points behind Sevco. He got nailed by Slippy G , Sevco players, and every pundit in the country, all of them laughing their balls off.

What I DID see evidence of, was a coach who was tactically * clueless. Utterly CLUELESS. He chatted absolute * whilst employed tactics that looked like he came up the Clyde in a bubble and read Lennon's playbook the night before. Not this elite coach who is blah blah blah. He was absolutely shredded in the media after the Sevco loss. Not one able to understand why in good * he completely surrendered the width of the park, then complained about it afterward.

Again, I'm sure he's a very competent coach. And probably a nice guy. But it's been YEARS with him now. He's been linked with 4 "high profile" jobs; Hibs, Mitjiland, Ross County, and Hearts... He obviously has zero desire to test himself, and is happy to play "yes boss" to whatever new manager comes in next.

He should go. * off somewhere and test himself. Try to carve out an identity as an assistant or as a manager.
Not slouch around Lennoxtown like a * Victorian ghost every new manager has to deal with.

Sad to see this Celtic legend leave the club.

    Legend :56:

The lengths folk go to in order to appear as Mr Celtic on here.

He’s not going, anyway. Lawwell gets his poodles to report this * every time a manager leaves.

I don't know. He's been at the club 2 decades and done a very good job in a number of public roles (player, youth coach, first-team coach, assistant manager, caretaker manager) under several different managers who all praised him highly. I get that there's a debate to be had, but it's not ridiculous to say he's a legend. Being a legend isn't just about the flashy stuff.

People are heavy raging they had a * opinion on him and when he’s been part of 5 trebles and they can’t find a single shred of proof that backs up their opinion, so they sit and type angrily inty the ether.

Did we not learn if we stick the trust with a manager and provide a top notch coaching staff then we can go on and rebuild quickly and win 5 trophies in the 2 years afterwards?

Other than the bit specifically about Kennedy are you not just describing the whole forum and the posts on it?

Historically, I've probably been one of his harshest critics.

Search on my username and his should prove that quite easily.

But I have come around to liking the guy... then as I say that, I'm not exactly fussed if he stays or leaves.

    He confuses me emotionally.

This place is really bonkers at time.

I don't know much about him but he must be doing something right to be at us for nearly 20 years. If he stays, great, if not he goes with my well wishes to do well in whatever he decides to do which I get fer my head around why others don't think the same to this.

Always felt in his role since he has been at the club so long should be dof clearly would be the perfect fit in this circumstance or the Rodgers one , imo ange shoulda been off straight away as soon as he knows all the cringe af stuff with the trophies and Mike salutes just fkn so bad now ,

Can’t imagine we’ll let him and Strachan go until we have a manager in the door, plus we can play hardball for more compo money.

Tell you what’s surprising to me with this, looks like the backroom stuff had long term contracts with the man on charge on a rolling one.

    We operate weirdly sometimes,

We don't know the ins and outs, they could be on rolling ones too or it could be just about them leaving to go to the same club as the manager has left for.

kennedy has had his job protected for years while i can see the logic in having a long term coach its maybe prevented us from getting a better one .set pieces are a joke in all his time here a fresh set of eyes on that alone may help us out.
