All the manangers we know Celtic have contacted with the exception of Moyes play the right kind of football. Which is exactly what they should be doing at this stage casting the net wide, contacting or listening to managers who play football the Celtic way, then narrow it down from there. If we were being linked with a load of long ball merchants then I'd be worried.

Who we end up with is out of our hands, but whoever it is we need to put reservations aside and get behind them from the off.

You would think our fans would have learned from the way they mauled Ange from the moment his name was mentioned.

and having read into the situation at Palma it had little to do with his abilities as a manager.

Care to share any of these articles highlighting how his failings at Parma (not Palma) were down to everyone but him?

Rodgers, Knutsen, Iraola, Farke, Maresca - that's a better list of names to be linked with than we had 5 days ago.
    Clarke, Brown, Moyes, Kennedy.

Maresca would be the cheap and lazy option, leaning on the city group connection. But two years ago I was all for it. I think we deserve someone more experienced and with an already established and winning style/setup etc.
But I can see the positives in a guy like Maresca. He would 100% need to be supported though with an entire shake up of the football department structure - the old DoF discussion and making sure we have our team in place, so when he leaves, we just bring in the next manager.

Personally I'm leaning towards Iraola though - two years with him, while building our football department, then perhaps bring in Maresca after he's perhaps done a stint in the English championship or something.

So to summarise you are flapping your gums without having actually done any research into the guy? Sounds about right for you.

We just need something sorted. Looks like Ange to Spurs was on the cards a lot longer than we knew so it wasn't a surprise to the board.

A few weeks ago we were in a position of great strength and ready to kick on while those other * had a rebuild. They now are signing players while we don't have a manager and when one comes in there will be quite a few changes so it's almost like the roles have reversed

I think announcing Maresca would be gross negligence. I could name 100 candidates in world football who, not only would deserve the job far more but would want the job.

You’ve just won a historic treble and you’re considering an assistant manager who’s had one failed stint at Parma? I get that’s not all down to him, things weren’t right at that club but if the City Group rate him so highly, plough him out to one of the other teams in their portfolio. Why couldn’t he manage Troyes or Lommel or New York City? Why does he deserve the chance with us?

I would find it * mental to appoint this guy.

How can they have no continuity plan if they are gonna go for a a guy who was interviewed 2 years ago and clearly left them impressed?

Surely having someone in mind to step in for the past 2 years is the very definition of a continuity plan no?

Offering the job to ex mangers how just so happen to be out of work ie lennon in 2019 or Rodgers this time would be a lack of a continuity plan

I’m calm, but it is frustrating that it’s been said over and over we should have a dof so that we’re not stuck in the same situation every time a manager leaves.

Also, have we interviewed people yet? Seen loads of rumours, but not seen we’ve actually interviewed yet? Good if we have though.

So we should just hire from city group, that’s our continuity plan?

A lot happens in football in 2 years, some people go to Parma and do *, I don’t know.

When we hired Ange I was excited, he had pedigree as manager and his teams played exciting football, he was experienced. Although most fans didn’t know anything about him, I did and he’d been managing for 25 years.

Maresca might become a great manager, but he hasn’t done a thing to deserve the top job. If he’s in with a chance, John Kennedy should be to and I don’t think he has a chance.

He didn't notify his previous clubs prior to moving. When he was manoeuvring a move to Athens he had the house removal company booked and then negotiated a move to us when that fell through before he had even bothered to inform Yokohama. What makes you think he changed the habit of a lifetime and bothered to inform our board that he was negotiating a move away?

The Celtic board is getting their go-to journalists to try and paint Ange as doing a midnight flit and taking them completely by surprise.

Based on that - and literally everything else they do - it looks like they don’t have a clue what they’re doing and are trying to buy time.

Any of the mods care to explain why this hun * @G40B is still on here?

Been absent during our recent league and cup wins but as soon as Ange goes he’s in here lapping it up.
