The difference is arsenal were a * shambles and needed rebuilt.

We don't. We've just won 5 out of 6 trophies all of our squad are on long term contracts and we have a ton of cash sitting in the bank. Manager or no manager, right now we are favourites for the title.

If its Maresca it's bcoz he's a top coach and the one most likely to play the exact same style to the one that has seen us sweep everything aside domestically for the past years

Don't want Maresca, he has no real experience as a leader. Good coaches are not necessarily good managers.

It’s went awfully quiet this week. It makes me think they decided on Maresca last week and they’re just waiting to finalise and announce it.

There was never really much noise from the club though. It's all just been speculation online and usual paper stuff.

Pep and Desmond are very close

Pep pivotal in who could be our next manager

If Pep wins the CL tonight with Man City he'll have achieved everything with them.

Pep gonna be the new Celtic manager, not Maresca :fear:

I want someone who will play brave attacking football with a sharp eye for a player.

I don't care if they buy talented individuals or those that fit a system.

As long as it works I'll be happy.

Got a feeling with all the talk about Maresca it's gonna be him. Underwhelming but intriguing if it is. Will either be a masterstroke or a disaster imo.

Maresca has disaster written all over it. From a position of strength we should be going and stamping our authority on everything. Not employing a no 2 with 6 terrible months in management.

We’re in our best position for years financially we’ve broken the Huns why not keep it going. This has a lot of unnecessary risks

I’m not Saying maresca will be a success but I’d say their more effort and methology behind a appointment like that than Tony mowbrary

Agreed. We wouldn't appoint cannavaro and for he would be a stronger candidate than Maresca and still be a bad appointment. Hope to * it isn't Maresca

I think Maresca is a red herring.

I would be surprised if it’s Maresca. Doesn’t feel well thought out.

Any search should start with the question ‘what do we need’ with maintaining domestic dominance being absolutely paramount.

Employing Ange was arguably a similar - but smaller - risk. We were miles away in the league, needed a massive rebuild, so taking a risk then made sense, and paid off. Doing it from a position of strength doesn’t seem like something we’d do though.

It’s refreshing to have moved away from the Keane, Lennon, Coyle, Lambert names at least :giggle1:

"2 English clubs and 1 abroad"

Are we considered abroad? Always think abroad is a place with lovely beaches and hot weather and at least a couple of hours trip on a plane :56:

If its Maresca it just shows the board haven't learned anything in the last few recruitment processes. The worry after that then switches to transfers. Was Ange a one man band driving it all on. Or was Nicholson really involved and as proactive as we hope he is.
