I don’t really buy this two year life span of a successful Celtic manager talk.

Ange only got the Tottenham job because umpteen other managers knocked them back.

Perhaps who would’ve stayed on for another year, had it only been the dregs sniffing about him.

A terribly timed holiday. I do expect it to be Maresca though.

Theyve had a good run tbh. Soon as it looked like the huns were back they hired Rodgers, an absoloute massive coup at the time. Fresh off just missing out on Liverpool winning the league.

Lennon even managed a treble before covid derailed him and the team.

They then went for howe. He's proven what a class act he is. Nearly over the line aswel. Then ofcourse ange. So it does fill me with hope they have someone of a similiar pedigree lined up.

Stepping stone managers are exactly what we want.

    That implies success.

Most on here seem against this and going by what little I have read, he seems under qualified for the job. What are your thoughts on him and is this DD & PL jobs for the boys nonsense again?

So we have been linked with

Rodgers - rumoured to not be interested but then others seem to think it will be him.

Maresca - will likely know more if he is in the running after the weekend. Not keen on the lack of experience.

Marsh - was good at Salzburg but that is hard to gauge what that means as they have such an advantage over the rest of the league. Terrible at Leipzig and Leeds.

Potter - his stock was high prior to Chelsea which was a shambles. ITK M13key from KDS says he’s backed him at the bookies but not been much chat on him.

Janssen - Tabloid link but is someone with a good CV from AZ Alkmaar over the last couple of seasons.

Knutsen - a lot of noise about him in media but it’s not clear if it is really saying he is a candidate for Ajax or us or both. Again good recent CV.

Buckingham - he won’t be manager that was a nonsense but I actually wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up part of the coaching team depending who gets the main job.

Iraola - suggestions he has thrown his CV in. He has done well at Rayo Vallecano and would be interesting but no suggestion we are interested or not.

Farioli - seems to have been mentioned by a list media and being honest I don’t understand the fanfare for him? Doesn’t seem to have done much of note to date. Very young too.

Moyes - was never going to be taking this job and been confirmed he’s staying at West Ham.

Kennedy - sounds like he is off to spurs with Ange.

Muscat - controversial given who he played for but has backfilled Ange a couple of times with success. Was a disaster in Belgium though.

I will no doubt have missed a few. Out of all that for me it be:

Take - Iraola, Knutsen, Potter, Janssen

    Begrudgingly Take -
    Rodgers

All the others are not for me I don’t think they have done enough as a manager to justify being the Celtic Manager.

From what I've read up on and watched of buckingham he seems the most like angels style of management, training short work but hard work.

That’s disappointing. Was hoping we’d somehow go for Iraola or someone exciting.

It is ideal weather for the new manager to order the heated drive install for winter..

Absolutely love it when folk start throwing the toys out due to making assumptions. Just makes me want Maresca in the door pronto to start going about rubbing every * faces in it YAAASSSS.

    All aboard the Enzo Express!

Desmond showing he couldn’t give two * about this, if Maresca gets the job this will be all of Lawwells doing and Desmond has gave him the reigns to get it done.

Ach well, I suspect we'll know by Tuesday at the latest if it's Maresca or not, doubt we'd delay it past then.

Still don't think it's as cut and dry as people believe, he's the frontrunner now but by all accounts we haven't spoken to him yet, lot of things can still happen.

I'm the same, I almost wanted Buckingham in after the fiasco on Tuesday ffs
