Agree the board not learning from the Eddie Howe saga and might have been one of the sticking points he didn't take the job and might put off another manager taking the job .

Surely if Kennedy wants to go and we are not accepting it he can resign? Like there’s no way Celtic can hold him against his will.

We will likely be looking for more compensation on top of the £5m for Ange but if him and the other coaches want to go they will go.

If anyone doesn't want to be at Celtic. Let them go. Let's replace them with better folk who do want to be here. That applies to everyone in any role.

But it's fair to ask them to pay up. None of the folk wanting to go can't moan about it either. They know the script, they'll know Ange won't be allowed to take folk, which only adds more to what we can ask for.

What did he expect he sat their making plans and pulling out targets it was at that time he should have told the board he had other plans and we would probably have a manger and a plan drawn up for that new guy just now

Theyll be clauses in the contracts to stop them working for other clubs until that contract is up. They'll also be buyout clauses I suppose. I'm sure it won't be that high for a coach but it'll be a tidy sum.

The Scottish media had no exclusives on Postecoglou leaving at all, yet suddenly they know all about this whilst the London press -which has been informed throughout - is radio silence.

Don’t buy it. It’ll be another back slapping moment for the board in front of the fans when they claim they retained them amidst EPL interest.

I'd imagine any resignation from his contract would come with a no compete clause.

Not a chance the club are putting any sort of brakes on JK.

If he wants to go he’ll be gone. It helps no one by being as forceful as is being suggested.

Once bitten twice shy by looks of it seemingly learned from what Brendan did and put these clauses in

I reckon Lawwell keeps Kennedy chained up in his basement when he’s not coaching.
Seriously, * does the guy have to do to get a move away?

Ange Postecoglou’s bid to take Celtic coaches John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan to Tottenham Hotspur with him is hanging in the balance.

The Australian wants to take his former No. 2 and assistant manager with him to Spurs. Celtic are unhappy that Postecoglou is looking to headhunt some of the staff he inherited. The English Premier League side have made official approaches to Celtic but have been cold-shouldered by the Hoops. Kennedy and Strachan are both keen to make the move with Postecoglou but must wait for permission and compensation to be thrashed out by Celtic.

So far that hasn't happened and Postecoglou could be forced to move on unless he gets a quick answer. Postecoglou is set to keep Ryan Mason, who he has inherited, as part of his coaching staff with Tottenham. Spurs agreed a multi-million compensation package to take the Australian from Celtic after he delivered a domestic treble. It remains to be seen if Celtic’s position changes when they advance in their own managerial search.

Record Sport broke the story that Manchester City assistant coach Enzo Maresca was a leading candidate Celtic wanted to talk to. An approach to speak to the Italian will be made after today’s Champions League final between City and Inter.

Brendan Rodgers has also been linked with a return, while Bodo Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen has also been linked, along with AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen

Anybody know what the rules are around this? If Kennedy and Strachan resigned and then immediately signed for Tottenham, presumably they'd be in breach of contract?

If they resign we can stop them working for another club until the date their contract here expires.

Basically same as managers or else every coaching staff would just resign before moving to a new job without compensation.

Why would we stop them? Get a decent compensation package to help towards the new staff or keep unhappy staff here that want to leave? Makes no sense.

They won’t be held against their will ffs, if both or either are wanted and they want to go they’ll be gone.

Desmond and Lawwell may have an opinion and may even forcefully voice it but what good does keeping anyone here that doesn’t want to be here do? Manager, coach, player or anyone in between?
